"Are we willing to do hard things?"
What's your answer British Columbia? Younger a future generations are counting on us to do more, not less, to protect their health and the economy on which they depend.

It is difficult to put into words how disappointed and worried we are about this. The risks and costs of extreme weather are already putting lives and livelihoods in jeopardy. Climate change is the largest debt to be passed from one generation to the next in our history.
Our latest tracking shows climate concern at its lowest point yet, with deep regional and partisan divides.

I unpack what this means for advocates trying to break through in an era dominated by precarity and economic pressure.

Financially secure retirees are speaking out. Meet Stephanie, a retired physician and mother of 3 who believes Canada's Old Age Security system needs reform. She doesn't want or need her payments and thinks reform is badly needed. Stephanie urges us all to "think beyond ourselves".
Canadians want to fix Old Age Security: Stephanie urges us to think beyond ourselves.
In a show of intergenerational solidarity, a growing number of Canadian seniors are telling Generation Squeeze that they are willing to give up their Old Age Security (OAS) benefit if it means diverting the funds to those in need: Seniors living in poverty and younger Canadians suffering through a crisis of affordability. There are 10 parts to our series: Canadians want to fix Old Age Security. In this tenth episode Stephanie, a retired physician and mother of three in Victoria admits she didn’t have to struggle “the way younger generation are struggling now” and suggests we should all “think beyond ourselves” when we consider how government budgets should prioritize the needs of its citizens. Stephanie thinks the Generation Squeeze plan to fix OAS is a win-win! OAS is 75 years out of date. Its 1950s design is dragging down today’s budget, and letting down seniors and young people alike. 75%...

Canada's budget 2025: It’s hard to call $1.6 billion a “generational investment” when the same budget plans to boost spending on retirees by $28 billion in 2029 alone. That gap speaks volumes about federal priorities! #cdnpoli www.gensqueeze.ca/did_budget_2...

Anyone up for eliminating poverty for ALL Canadian seniors??

How about doing it with money left over to help young Canadians with housing, child care, tuition, climate crisis etc...?????

We wouldn't even have to raise taxes!! Got a better idea?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEim0a-6kkA
