We DID not say "instead of". We are also advocating for tax reform. It is possible to walk and chew gum at the same time! But giving significant income subsidies to seniors with incomes over $100,000 while other seniors live in poverty is unacceptable and 3/4 of Canadians agree!

Actually, our proposal would improve benefits for single seniors, because we propose to increasing the household threshold above the status quo: from $90k/individual to $100k per household. So single seniors would keep even more benefits beyond what they do today. action.gensqueeze.ca/fix_oas

Canadians with incomes above $100,000/year are in the top 10%. We are advocating to eliminate poverty for ALL seniors by asking these financially secure retirees to accept ~$3000 less per year in OAS payments. 76% of retired seniors agree that this is a good idea. www.gensqueeze.ca/oas_poll_2024
