Chiptune is and has always been a social, community-oriented scene. Project files and tutorials are shared far and wide to help people learn how to make chiptune using predominately *free* tools made by revered members of our community. Turning your back to that and using AI is anti-social behavior.

Now that we've had some time to get off work & confer & write things down, we've put out a quick statement, removed the albums from the October newsletter, and will be making sure that folks know when they submit their albums (which these were not, btw, we were tagged) that we won't promo AI "art."

You can’t be racist against AI. AI does not have a race. It doesn’t have a body to be racialized. It doesn’t have a perspective which can experience racism

And teens snickering is universal, so I try to remember. They're very likely not laughing that I'm trans, teens will laugh at anyone. They probably thought my shoes were ratty or didn't understand why I still wore a mask

It depends. Within the limited scope of viewing social media and the perpetually online, yes. When dealing with people in the world? Not as bad but this is my limited experience. The worst every now and then are teens snickering or occasional old man will ask me what I am if I'm outside a major city

Going to the Philadelphia Unnamed Film Festival. Me and my spouse went last year and had a great time. Disappointed to learn there is a short that has AI in it today, though. If you're going, please join me in rating it a zero and demand no AI in film festivals

I think what’s most frustrating right now for Black and Indigneous people is waiting for the bulk of white folks to catch up.

At some point the “this isn’t who we are” and “I didn’t have this on my bingo card” has to end and y’all will catch up, right? RIGHT?
