Dear hive: Does anyone have an idea on how to recruit *production workers in the Netherlands* for a qualitative study? Asking for a PhD colleague. Slim chance, but all hints would be welcome. Feel free to share as well! Thanks!

So much talk about Reform voters, but I'm yet to read much about their lives beyond tropes and excuses ('legitimate concerns').

I've been back in the midlands to interview people and learn more. Here's my piece on them and Reform's attempts to present itself as a community-minded, pro-worker party:
Reform’s aesthetics of industry

Only the memories of Mike Tyson at his most destructive in sparring can rival the vivid images I carry of the young Ricky Hatton training in an old hat factory. He was utterly lost in boxing. It all felt so pure. Ricky was unforgettable then – and remains so now

we revealed in FT two years ago that Mandelson stayed at Epstein's luxury house in Manhattan while the financier was in jail for soliciting a minor

he was deputy prime minister at the time

always seemed weird that broadcasters didn't really pick this up at the time

OK, a🧵: Our new paper studies workers' political consciousness in times of class demobilization.

We show there's more to workers' politics than right-wing resentment. Listening to workers, we reconstruct their moral critiques of money, power & recognition.

This, and many other clubs who have been too speculative have not done well as a result. Everton fans probably lauded Moshiri spending loads, bringing in James Rodriguez and Ancelotti, but that almost got them relegated!

V.white middle class area where I grew up: flags everywhere

The latter unlike the former has not been "forgotten by Westminster" or "left behind by globalisation". These people are mostly just racists.
