might feel more complicated to players without a lot of experience with factory/base building/automation games so I think having resources for players to learn these systems is a good thing. But the implementation is not the best, imo

but having to complete these tutorial simulation exercises to unlock a blueprint that I need to progress the main story is not my favorite and I think it really affects the pacing? Again, I get that as someone with a LOT of hours in Satisfactory, things that seem simple to me...

Oh wow, I had no idea. I don’t know anything about Arknights lore — it was the factory gameplay that got me to try it. I didn’t know Originium makes people sick? I agree with you and I hope they get it right in how they handle the story.

yeah :( every now and then the ao3 subreddit pops up on my feed and I see posts where people have gotten horrible bot comments, including comments with actual threats against the author/artist

I've heard the bot situation on AO3 is *terrible* these days. Lots of scammers :(

A few months ago I'd started watching a playthrough bc I didn't think I'd be able to handle the combat, but I stopped and I'm glad I did, as I'm now able to experience this beautiful work of art (and sadness) for myself.
