The first time I visited Kennedy Space Center, my brother & I drove across FL during his spring break specifically so I could frolic in the rocket garden & geek out over every exhibit and piece of space memoribilia. I never dreamed I'd be here almost 20 years later, working a mission launch. 🥹🚀☀️

Everyone wasting their time posting TS hate is a perfect distillation of the misogyny-fueled, exhausting time in pop culture that we are living through.

I hate it with a fiery passion.

But I won't let it rob me of my joy in celebrating every facet of girlhood - including my inner showgirl.

❤️‍🔥

The New York Times issued a retraction and apology decades later, after Apollo 11 launched, and men walked on the Moon. He wasn't alive to see it.

The point is, haters have always existed. The comments section of Goddard's blog would have been merciless. Cancelled for outlandish ideas!

All of modern rocketry is based on his work. NASA named its Maryland outpost after him. His name is in Star Trek & other scifi based on Earth history.

His wife Esther was a massive champion & record-keeper of his work, and fiercely guarded his legacy. She saved & transcribed it all.

I said to my therapist today that Robert Goddard, who launched the first liquid-propelled rocket, was publicly shamed & ridiculed by the New York Times for his experiments. They said you could never have thrust in a vacuum. He went into a deep depression that lasted a long time. Almost gave up.

When someone hates something you love and feels the need to essentially have a temper tantrum in public about it, on your feed? That is SO sad + pathetic.

I have never once in my LIFE done that about someone's fandom. The idea is foreign to me. But it is a daily thing online & increasingly, IRL.

People are whining like, oh you're defending a billionaire, she's releasing too many things to buy, wah wah. When I tell you how much I do not care!

Its like people who constantly come up to me & say why they don't like Captain Janeway. Or tweet at Kate telling her she's their least fave captain.🙄

It feels like so many people are tearing her down and crapping on the new album because its different and you know what? I simply do not care. The hate is outsized beyond reason. No other artists gets dumped on like she does.

Shame on all those people for trying to take away the joy from her fans.

I just watched Taylor on Jimmy Fallon & you know what the best part was? The audience. Mostly ladies, they knew all the words already, they were dancing, smiling, cheering. Wearing their sparkles, cardiagans, & friendship bracelets, making 🫶🏻 hands.

That is the feeling, that is joy and girlhood.

The new ranking (I think), for me personally:

1989 (forever #1)
Lover
Reputation
Midnights
Red
Folklore
Fearless
The Tortured Poets Department
The Life of a Showgirl
Speak Now
Debut
Evermore

I find ranking them beyond top 3 very difficult!

Subject to change without notice. 🫶🏻

Like show business, space isn't easy. But we do it because we love it and we wouldn't have it any other way! ✨🌟💫

Happy World Space Week!

I love this! And I love this for Priscilla, who I do not know but I salute her! The best reply ever? Might be.

guy got mad at me for sharing this comic on twitter back in 2017, but it's still one of my favorite exchanges. (he was not kidding, btw.)
my own tweet explaining "so in this Spanish horror comic, Frankenstein's monster knocks out a woman, and I was REALLY worried, but he just wanted to try on her clothes" with screenshot of a guy named Ziv quote-tweeting me to say "This is horrendously disturbing. I am disturbed. Honestly, Priscilla, you need to back up and look at your life and think to yourself, 'Self, is this really the person I want to be?' Posting frankensteinian erotica and shit?'" with my reply "this is exactly the person I want to be" and the followup "actually it's Frankenstein's MONSTER'S Erotica"

Thank you for proving my point. No one asked you!!

I am really over folks who are going out of their way to lecture women for enjoying what they love (in this case, Taylor Swift. But it can be anything). If I'm not performing wokeness loud enough for you, that's your problem.

I love how full of rage Taylor makes people, esp men. It is SO telling.
