I think my question is: what does that "supervision" look like? I couldn't have accomplished what I did this week as easily without my existing coding knowledge, and Claude and I probably would have had more miscommunication (and communication, I think, is a huge part of what we need to teach).

I've been thinking about what this means for education *a lot* this week as I watched Claude take the wheel (with a ton of supervision) for a few coding projects. I teach my "programming for biologists" class in the Winter and I think my plan needs to change.

I'm curious about one thing you say here: "none of the stats that I present will be ones that ChatGPT decided to run for me." It sounds like ChatGPT was pretty good with your data, and any modern model would allow you to choose a stats workflow anyway. What happens when you and ChatGPT agree? :)

Yupppp I had a pretty mind blowing experience with Claude (code) this week. I didn't push it on any advanced statistics but it wrote a full exploratory notebook for me.

I don't think anyone should be spending time writing code line-by-line any longer.
