NEW: CycleToronto and other citizens have launched a Charter challenge of the Ford government's law to remove bike lanes. CT's executive director is not present at the Queen's Park announcement because... he was doored on Monday in a painted bike lane and is hospitalized.

Toronto could never because what if homeless people lay down there
A micro-theatre. Love it. Every park could have one.

Toronto's best hope is that they give the removal work to Metrolinx. It will take 12 years to plan and design, and the cost will grow to $200 million per km and might never be finished.
A sad day for cyclists in Toronto, Ottawa, and across Ontario. Third Reading of Doug Ford's anti bike lane Bill 212 passed 66 to 27. We must keep fighting including organizing to #VoteFordOut when the election comes! #shame #BikeTO #ottbike #TOpoli #ONpoli #VisionZero

if i've learned one thing from doing union stuff while also doing other forms of organizing, it's that you're better off with people you disagree with who are nevertheless trying to do the same thing as you than with people you agree with who aren't trying to do anything

Visited the Comfort Maple in Pelham last month! It’s one of the oldest sugar maples in Canada, estimated to be about 500 years old. It is staggering in size — the photo doesn’t really do it justice.

Check your inbox: it’s City Hall Watcher #305!

Doug Ford says only about 1% of Toronto bikes to work. But Doug, that’s not true. A charty look at what the data tells us about how many people cycle commute.

How many people commute by bike in Toronto? More than Doug Ford thinks
City Hall Watcher #305: Premier Doug Ford says just 1% of people in Toronto ride a bike — in some neighbourhoods, the percentage is more than ten times higher

I know this has been discussed to death, but if the Bloor, Yonge, and University bike lanes are removed the urban quality of this city will actually decline so much its kind of hard to even imagine

The final nail in the coffin of Toronto trying to be world class (and failing, to be clear)
