I’ve been wresting with how to speak about acts of violence to my girls.
In our current nightmare I find political assassinations somewhat of a necessity. No Kirk wasn’t one of them, he was a shithead with some reach, but could easily be dealt with with words.

I am greatly worried about Americans, most of them. From the outside looking in and with very little knowledge on anything I’m thinking it may be time to join your local militia or flee. That tweet about “saving your country, break no laws” is truly terrifying.

When I started buying formula it was 22.99 3 years later it’s 32.99
This isn’t inflation or taxes or whatever nonsense they tell you. They jack the price on essential stuff so you can’t afford it. They lock it up so you can’t steal it.

So my threenager today outright refused to clean up the god awful kinetic sand. So I said that’s it it’s going in the bin.
She just stared at me picked up a handful and threw it in the bin her self. Effectively rendering my reactionary parent useless

The thing I find about anarchy is the work doesn’t change when rulers do. At the community level you’re still helping those who need it. Having conversations with ppl, providing aide or defence. Doing your best to live your life while positively affecting others.

I was firmly in the “no fucking way am I bringing a child into this mess” camp. But as my mom’s time was running out we got to talking. And in one sentence she changed my mind. “ under the rise of fascism we need good people, and good people raise good people.”

i haven’t had much spare time for platforms. I checked into to Twitter today and it is awful. I previously took the stance it’s important to stay and counter the narrative being built, but after a break and coming back it feels far past that point. I now say let them rot in their echo chamber

It is now 10pm and the toddler is wide awake. It’s her first week in her big bed and up until now was going great. Instead of forcing her to sleep we gently try every half hour or so and just roll with it. Her little brain is just going crazy tonight.

And on top of it I was a pretty bad dad today. We had to leave the store cuz was running all over and had a tantrum and I tried to be calm and patient but it wasn’t working. I felt everyone’s eyes on me. So I scooped em up and walked out.
