So — as someone experienced with disaster response, let me say this gently: SEND MONEY IF YOU CAN.
If you have things like clothes or household items that have been specifically requested OR if you work with an org directly and know their needs, stuff is fine.
But … stuff is also hard to manage.

A lot of aid orgs in LA county are absolutely deluged with donations, especially clothes, which is amazing. Longer term, folks are going to need money and help finding places to live in an absolutely awful rental market. And we’re already seeing some reports of price gouging on hotel rooms.
