Yesterday I walked a whole different section of river trail. For most of the stretch I walked on the main view was not of the river as shown here but of gigantic houses’ backyards full of swimming pools, pickleball courts, and in-ground trampolines. Absurd, suburbia.

Local songwriters’ showcase series Near Hear last night in Mountain West Cider’s warehouse, super cool space. I was so enchanted by Karlie McKinnon I forgot to even take a picture but my date got me her set list (😍). Morgan Snow was equally wonderful and looks a little bit like my youngest brother.

Phones had to be put away for the Neko Case show. It was so reverb-y and beautiful. I was super tired but I just let the music wash over me and that was perfect. Unexpectedly and to my delight, I saw my sister by the merch table.

I realized tonight that while I have seen Lucius at Kilby Block Party and on their joint tour with Dawes I had not actually seen a full pure Lucius show until now. It was transcendent. My dusty trails have led me to a golden road for sure.

I was already out and about so I took my walk on a different section of river trail than usual. My section is still the best but wow the light and the sky have been astonishing.

Last night I won $167 as a guest speller with the public library team in a small town fundraiser spelling bee so don’t ever let me hear you say being my particular kind of nerd isn’t profitable.
Obviously as good leftists we could not allow the team from the bank to win.

As a person who can’t eat gluten or dairy I still need carbs & protein. Bless Zupas’ heart for thinking lettuce & berries is an acceptable catered lunch for an adult human but NO.
