I knew a lefty guy that was just deeply cynical by being disappointed his entire adult political life. Wouldn’t say he lashed out at people online but I imagine it’s not a big leap to doing so if you’re like that and also don’t have great values

I don’t want to hear about norms, I don’t want to hear about looking forward not back, I don’t want to hear about “bipartisanship”

I want the filibuster gone, the court packed, new states, and a top to bottom cleaning of the federal government that ends with a lot of people in jail

Now that is my flavor of autism so I’m sorry to say I like the magic-as-system approach (mystic magic à la LotR very good too)

I have friends who swear by Sando and I don’t have anything in particular against him but I’ve read a few books of his and each one ended in his typical avalanche of plot twists and like. I thought it was always a bit too thick.

asimov, “master of hard sci-fi”, writes books about secret psychic societies that can predict the course of human history using math

I’m glad you pointed that out because the expanse was most interesting to me not because of the spaceship engines or the aliens but because of the societal drama between earth and mars

the expanse never did but advertisers sure did

I’m watching the new border patrol surge in Charlotte and wondering why they are voluntarily hastening the lib backlash in the suburbs of NC of all states.

I’d be more sympathetic if I still wasn’t getting donation requests addressed to my FATHER who graduated 30 years before me

Re: Seattle, yes. This map shows the Wilson vs Harrell vote share. Harrell won all the wealthy single family homes on the coast and on top a few nice hills, while Wilson won all the dense apartment areas in downtowns and along transit corridors (where I live and rent!)
