I don’t want to hear about norms, I don’t want to hear about looking forward not back, I don’t want to hear about “bipartisanship”

I want the filibuster gone, the court packed, new states, and a top to bottom cleaning of the federal government that ends with a lot of people in jail

Across the country, Starbucks workers are on an Unfair Labor Practice strike for a fair first contract, and I know which side I’m on. Baristas make Starbucks an extraordinarily wealthy company. They are entitled to their fair share of that wealth and to benefits and fair treatment on the job.

Petty Activist: I would rather chop down every tree in Seattle city limits than allow NIMBYs to block the development of a single plot of low-income housing
Turns out the real political spectrum is just how people feel about free parking 😂

I recall some national outlet, apparently unaware of how our mail-in ballots work, decrying Seattle for record low turnout on election night.
Voter turnout in the Seattle election has reached 55.95%. That's the highest mayoral election voter turnout this century for the city, besting even the 2009 election when there was 54.99% voter turnout.

ARC Raiders is pretty darn fun with friends. Love to run into strangers in proximity chat who are equally paranoid and desperate to get home with their ill-gotten gains, and extract together after an uneasy truce.

The NYT has throttled huge national news stories by burying coverage on A-13, burned and buried more chances to say the truth about Trump than anyone even knew existed, has been a huge driver of American institutional transphobia, and also does not meaningfully cover NYC anymore. What’s the point?

A lot of what I say and post about Seattle’s previous mayor and council has been negative. Often petty.

I do want to say that I am excited about the positive changes that Wilson, Rinck, and Foster can begin to make in our city!

The SoDo proposal was the council doing the absolute bare minimum to seem “pro-housing” in an election year by stuffing poor people in a literal industrial district. Anyway rip bozo Sara Nelson, you won’t be missed.
A contentious proposal to legalize residential uses in a small slice of SoDo was approved by a 6-3 vote in March by the Seattle City Council. But a state board pointed out several areas where the City cut corners ahead of that vote, nullifying the change.

Wilson's up 1,346 votes.

This race is likely over.
Katie Wilson is up 91 votes in the Seattle Mayor's race as Wilson-mentum continues to pay dividends.
Wilson-mentum is real.

The gap in the Seattle Mayor's race has narrowed to just 4,300 votes, or 1.88%.

So why didn’t Seattle DSA endorse in the mayor’s race? Given Mamdani and other real successes I was considering signing up for the first time, yet the local chapter seems to have missed big time with not at least saying “yeah Wilson seems better than Harrell”. How come? She not good enough for them?

also fuck @petebuttigieg.bsky.social for trying to meddle in Seattle’s local elections. His endorsement (among others) nearly cost this race to the detriment of actual transit advocates.

Updating my plot on Katie Wilson's latest numbers compared to previous races. Progressive vote share sometimes drops a little in the last few percent, but it's extremely unlikely that it's enough to reverse her lead at this point.
