Not for the first time, I am reminded that I wouldn't trust anyone in the Trump WH other than Rubio with secure information. Including Trump. And Rubio would still need supervision. Just massive incompetence that will take decades to repair.
What a shit show. Everyone could see this plan was written by the Kremlin. Adopted by Witkoff and Trump who demanded Ukraine accept it by this Thursday. After a firestorm of objections by Europe and Republican senators it appears Rubio wants to distance himself from it.

I've long maintained that the Democratic party tolerates criticism of Israel as long as it doesn't trip into anti-semitism. The Republican party tolerates anti-semitism as long as it doesn't trip into criticism of Israel. And here we are.

The debate on the House floor right now is so very, very stupid. A bunch of people who's salaries are paid by tax payers, doing a job that would be impossible to outsource to the private sector are condemning the evils of socialism. Either they are stupid, or that they think you are.

The House voted UNANIMOUSLY to repeal this yesterday. The fact that Thune continues to defend it is unconscionable. 8 Senators got caught asking for free money. Show some personal accountability and admit you messed up. But don’t keep demeaning yourself and the institution.
As the Senate tries to defend a million dollar payday to 8 of their own - and as the House GOP tries to explain why they refused to amend the CR to strip it out, let's review exactly what it is they want restitution for. Brief thread:

Prioritizing the interests of energy producers over the interests of energy consumers has caused prices to skyrocket.

It's time for an approach to energy policy that puts American consumers first.

Last month it was the Young Republicans praising Hitler. Last week it was Fuentes & Carlson criticizing "Jewry". This week, they're saying swastikas and nooses aren't hate speech. The rot is party-wide. www.seattletimes.com/nation-world...
U.S. Coast Guard will no longer classify swastikas, nooses as hate symbols
The military service, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security, has drafted a new policy that classifies such items “potentially divisive.”

This is encouraging from a consumer perspective and depressing from an industrial perspective. Consumers keep favoring cheap energy - and Trump's policies are driving the investment in the underlying technologies outside of our borders. www.cleaninvestmentmonitor.org/reports/q3-2...

Once again:

We had an amendment to strip the Seditioning Senate Stimulus provision in the House but GOP leadership blocked it, agreeing instead to pass a standalone bill that Thune had no obligation nor desire to take up. Faced with the opportunity to lead, Johnson cowered.

Mike Johnson doesn't stand up to Trump because he takes his oath seriously, or that he fights for Congressional prerogatives in the Constitution. He does it because he senses that his own personal politics depend on creating distance from Trump.
