I think the left tends to think their causes self-evident if only people were educated. So in many ways they don't try to convince. I've seen that with bail reform fer instance - the reasons for it were never really brought to public discourse. Both why it is so unpopular, and why it overstepped.

It's kind of insane: the obvious lane open today in US politics is fiery left populism that vows to restrain & discipline the Epstein class ... but our only left party is run by that same class & its quisling pundits! Something is gonna break.

Someone told me lately "Bluesky is just like Twitter." I argued that was untrue on the basis that last time I had a Twitter account most times I got a new follower their bio said "single & looking for fun" & here when I get a new follower it tends to say something like "professor of rare moths".

The short story of the 21st century in the United States is that out of malice or cowardice or some combination of both, every presidency contributed to building and expanding a federal secret police of goons and thugs, despite clear warning and obvious abuses, until we got to this point.
This is the second account - the first being in Chicago - of DHS agents mass detaining people and then *sorting them by race*.
More than 400 people, including hundreds of citizens, were “sorted” at gun point into racial and ethnic groups by 200 ICE agents who fired flash-bang grenades into cars with people inside, pointed guns at children & demanded their zip tied parents not comfort them. apple.news/Ausdx6kWtT0e...
