A giant loss: Robert Duvall is gone. An extraordinary artist who was fluent in every dialect of film acting, from ice-cold underplayer (The Godfather) to expert naturalist (Tender Mercies, The Apostle) to balls-to-the-wall maniac (Apocalypse Now). One of our all-timers. Plunge into that filmography.
Robert Duvall, the legendary actor whose career has spanned over six decades, has died at 95, his wife announced

They want to scare people out of posting ICE-critical content, because they know these posts are turning even their supporters against them. But the better option is to take a page out of their playbook and flood the zone.
Posting about ICE on Instagram is now enough to get you an “administrative subpoena.” 👀

one of the lessons i learned from the bush years is the right loves for the left to think they are on the fringe, that our voices dont matter, and that we are drowned out. it leads to the left being quiet and the right dominating the conversation. but we arent fringe and we should always be loud.

“The U.S. no longer has emission standards of any meaning,” said Margo T. Oge, who served as the E.P.A.’s top vehicle emissions regulator under three presidents and has since advised both automakers and environmental groups…

what's interesting is that this is the exact opposite of the truth for art but might be true for the STEM fields these people are from, historically far more science has been done by the landed gentry and economically privileged than singing
What do we think about the assertion in this meme? I know, we think it's asinine, but I'm looking for specific arguments as to why it's asinine.

Princes, the dregs of their dull race, who flow
Through public scorn,—mud from a muddy spring,—
Rulers who neither see, nor feel, nor know,
But leech-like to their fainting country cling,
Till they drop, blind in blood, without a blow,—

Agitates the light flame of their hours,
Until its vital oil is spent or spilt."
