My latest piece, considering whether ex-post litigation can take the place of vaccine requirements starts by asking, what I think ought to be the key question all reasonable humans ask of this proposal:

How much would you charge a stranger to kill your child?

Super Bowl viewers Sunday speculated that 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos appeared in the halftime show. In fact, he has been in hiding with his family.

“He can’t sleep well at night. He wakes up three or four times a night screaming, ‘Daddy, Daddy,’” Liam's father Adrian Conejo Arias, said.

Super impressed by the Bad Bunny halftime show for its ability to make the world's most racist dipshits be extremely racist in public to such a degree that it might actually be politically damaging for them; Bad Bunny wins again

The fact that her reaction is almost certainly opportunistic makes this more, not less, significant.
GOP Sen Lummis says she’s changed her mind after the new Epstein revelations today: “Initially my reaction to all this was, I don’t care. I don’t see what the big deal is. But now I see what the big deal is. The members of Congress who were pushing this were not wrong!”

This is true, but having taught at some elite schools, I can say that some kids believe that checking all the boxes and getting into a good school entitles them to anything they want. When they find out that nature and society limit them, they become fake-populists and wanna burn "the system"
I don't think Hegseth's Ivy education has much to do with all this. A challenging school with its complex social situations can help light the fuse but he is who he is.

(Yes, I know rapiers don’t have that kind of guard, but how could I pass up having skeleton hands for a basket???)

This is horrifying for so many reasons. The one I'm thinking of right now is the billion dollars spent to torture and terrorize and imprison people could easily buy all of us healthcare, child care, parental leave, affordable housing ... all the things the Epstein Class swears we can't afford.
In the last month ICE has bought warehouses in:

- Hagerstown, MD: $102 million
- Surprise, AZ: $70 million
- Hamburg, PA: $87 million
- Tremont, PA: $120 million
- San Antonio, TX: $82 million
- El Paso, TX: $123 million
- Social Circle, GA: price unknown

This is unprecedented.

And lots of wildlife, which they were happy to co exist with.
