Most people who need security details consider them a burden, not a perk. I once interviewed a former prosecutor who had US marshals live with him for 18 months because he was taking on some organized crime group.
interesting that these people — and fellow travelers like bari weiss — insist on large, expensive security details. they are status markers, i suppose.

We may not like what these conservatives do, but we must respect them as men of principle, committed to reducing government to its core functions of providing armed guards and private jets to conservatives.

The whole cast of Hairspray (1988) is insane. Ruth Brown, who plays Motormouth Maybelle would be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a few years later. I didn't even know who she was at the time.
This girl had the craziest career. Amber in the original Hairspray, lead singer of alt rock band Eve's Plum, pop star Vitamin C, music exec at Nickelodeon and now Netflix.
