This coupled with Lizza sitting on all of these revelations just to drop them in a petty newsletter makes me want to fumigate the entire political journalism world. Just staggering levels of unethical nonsense.

This is called “chain refoulment” and it’s illegal under both U.S. and international law. And the State Department and ICE know very well what Ghana is doing and simply don’t care.
ICE deported a woman who owned a home in the US for 30 years. A judge banned ICE from deporting her to Sierra Leone where she had been tortured, so it deported her to Ghana, which kidnapped her and sent her back Sierra Leone anyway. ICE is part of this illegal conspiracy.

If you’re surprised, you should probably learn more about what prisons and jails are actually like in this country.

Like I don’t mean this as a gotcha. I mean if this shocks you, you should really look more into it. We need more people who want to change this.
A @nytimes.com investigation has found that state prison guards have been credibly accused of engaging in such behavior — putting inmates in restraints and then assaulting them — far more often than was previously known.

We will do a 2,500 page environmental review on a new highway that we know will lead to more traffic, and then rule out a bus lane with analysis that is done on the back of a napkin.
Idk what stage this is at, but it was eye opening when we prodded about the Route 8 study (which SDOT took as fact) but it just counted cars in 2 lanes then multiplied delay by two for adding a bus lane. No factoring in of mode shift, alternate routes, etc. I'd imagine that's what WSDOT is doing too

It was my privilege today to appoint Colleen Melody to the Washington Supreme Court.

When I was Attorney General, I established a Civil Rights Division. Colleen agreed to come and build it from the ground up. Now, by any fair measure, it's the best civil rights division in any AGO in the country.

Just a friendly reminder as we go into the holidays:

Folks don't have to explain to you why they don't drink.

If you offer them a drink and they decline, don't ask them why. It's not your business.

Just offer them something without alcohol to drink instead. And move on.

They're demanding, among other things, sewage removal and heat and electricity restroration.
