Ooof. I use Intercity a lot and drivers do tend to find a way for people to take quick toilet breaks when needed, but I totally understand you wouldn't want to rely on it and nor should you have to.

Here I'm knitting a pattern with two colours, and it's holding one colour in one hand and knitting those stitches the English way while holding the other colour in the other hand and knitting those stitches the Continental way. It's a time.

So there are two styles of knitting (well that's an oversimplification but), English and Continental. You hold the yarn in different hands and do a different type of movement for the same results. Most people learn whichever the person teaching them to knit used and it becomes muscle memory forever.
