I like to watch YouTube archeology content when crafting and doing other tasks. Turns out that for all the issues with the algorithm in general, it's been doing pretty well at feeding me the right videos.

Because last night I searched while not logged in and... that was not a good plan 👽

So the keyboardist on the song Blair used as a campaign anthem to replace The Red Flag in '97 is now a physicist failing to stand up to the BBC about transphobia?

This timeline *shakes head*

NEW STORY DAY! "The Doorkeepers" is now live (and podcasted) over at @uncannymagazine.bsky.social!

Unlikely narrators! Timeloops! Humor, but also not!

Super excited about this one being out in the world!

The Doorkeepers - Uncanny Magazine
It’s Sunday night, which means it’s our Friday night, which means the Doorkeepers go out and get absolutely blasted. It’s not as messy as it sounds. We’re polite drunks; we make a point of it actually...

One of my projects for this year is writing up and organising family history information - there's a lot in my head and a lot in different documents

what I'm saying is, if you doubted the heritability of autism, you would NOT after you'd read some of this.

Did some craft supplies reorganisation, didn't find the needles I need but _did_ find this forgotten WIP, so I guess I'm working on it while I acquire the needles for the other thing.

Did a big tidy up and now I'm clutching my inhaler amid a cloud of dust.

There are various lessons one could learn from this, and I suspect I'll learn the wrong one.

I did this one a couple of years ago and really liked it!

The not-personal thing I'm personally most excited about for 2026 is Auracast. I'm not wild about having to upgrade my phone when it's otherwise perfectly good, but damn. Imagine being able to not only hear things but understand them.

I don't get to start the new year with a new writing project this time (for overall positive reasons, but I do like doing that) so I'm letting myself cast on a new knitting project instead. I have yarn at the ready...

Name 1 movie from your childhood you were way too young to watch.
