Rather than making a fake moa, Colossal Bioscience's time would be much better spent committing us properly to the pūkeko/takahē model by ensuring we have non-chonk and chonk versions of each of our birds.

Obvious vacancies:
Non-chonks needed: Kākāpō, kererū
Chonks needed: Kōtuku, pūteketeke

Declining this FSU podcast invitation. FSU’s track record, and the Ani O’Brien post shared with it, don’t signal good‑faith dialogue. One question: when platforming Steven Pinker, did FSU consider his role in the Epstein ecosystem?

They’ve already run an Enquiry. Govt wastes more money to distract from the fiscal mess they’ve put us in & are about to make worse with the LNG tax decision. #nzpol

Have they found a Bill English clone in finance they can pay big bucks to say what they think will look good in election year?

Ok, so here's the thing ... while electromagnetic radiative cooling in space exists, passive thermal cooling does not. The vacuum of space LITERALLY INSULATES AGAINST IT.

One of the biggest problems in space is getting rid of waste heat and putting a SERVER FARM in space doesn't get around this.
This would have been a good point for someone to have asked, is that really how things work? Or is vacuum in fact an excellent insulator? www.ft.com/content/a5cf...

Righto. I've read the papers released by MBIE on the LNG analysis. This will be a longish thread on my thoughts, which I'll add to progressively. Docs are here. 🧵 1/-

Watts is an idiot of the first order and a symptom of anti intellectualism rife in National
But when both the Taxpayers Union AND Greens absolutely diss the Government on the LNG Corruption Show, you know National fucked up mega

Ministers seemed unprepared for criticism over LNG and then unable to salvage the narrative once the severity of the situation became apparent.

David Gauld's portrait (c1920) is an exercise in aesthetic values; it is reputed to depict the actress Irene Vanburgh, Oscar Wilde's own choice for Gwendolen in the first performance of 'The Importance of Being Ernest,' which opened at St. James's Theatre, 14th February 1895.

"I am not aware" is a Luxon ploy to get out of answering questions. Neither should be allowed to get away with it. "Well you are now, so what is your response" should be the followup question
THANEDAR: What did your ICE agent mean when he said, 'you raise your voice, I erase your voice' in the video all of us have seen?

LYONS: I'm not aware of that video. I can't comment

156,000 children were in material hardship in 2024 compared to 144,000 in 2023.

Luxon really got things back on track, this is his track, things are materially worse across the board. #nzpol

Our electricity bills are simply taxation by other means. The government is the major shareholder in most of the gentailers, and the primary beneficiary of unnaturally inflated prices and excessive dividends. This is just taxation via our power accounts

#nzpol
If it walks like a tax and quacks like a tax, it's probably a tax.

Tax is fine, but don't use it to increase electricity costs AND climate change with something that will be a stranded asset anyway!

LNG is like keeping NZ on heroin temporarily acc to Craig Renney. It will cost $2.7b & price volatile acc to geopolit sit. It doesn't generate a single watt. The gvt ruled out renewables bc they might interfere w the mkt ie gentailers make less profit. Gvt is favouring s/holders over consumers.
