On October 13, 2025, California Governor Gavin Newsom vetoed legislation that would have regulated employers’ use of artificial intelligence (AI) and other automated decisionmaking technologies in employment-related decisions, citing concerns about “overly broad restrictions” on employers’ use of the technology. The legislation, passed on the heels of the finalization of two separate sets of state AI regulations, would have added to California’s increasingly complicated web of overlapping and sometimes inconsistent laws and regulations concerning such technology.

Yeah. You’ll have a much better chance of winning if you soak the conker in vinegar overnight and then bake it like a pie. Seriously?

Seriously. And if you end up collecting too many conkers, you can hurl them across the playground and all the other kids will fight each other for them. A beautiful, natural thing like a conker, and you use it as a weapon? A weapon that comes with a long set of arcane and bewildering rules?

Even before I really started shedding my high school "conservative" self (ashamed to say I was still part of the anti-abortion club for a couple years), I could recognize that there was something fundamentally wrong with people who saw leaning into charicature out of spite as a fun and good thing.

This may be almost true but I think this road was at least visible in Fall 2008 when I got to Michigan. I went to one (1) College Republican Club meeting. They were "joking" about buying bigger trucks to spite the global warming crowd, and hyping their annual MSU tailgate at the gun range (cont)

The way that's phrased it almost reads more to me that a 25mph throttle bike is only considered an e bike in such a city, and by implication would be legally something else (for license or insurance purposes?) statewide

I had my first case of it last month, just before the shot was available. With paxlovid it was a mild cold for a few days, a couple days of rebound, but it took me 22 days to test negative. Good luck and rest up
