There are so many elements that have made his ascension possible: co-opted corporate media; social media’s unregulated environment; the overwhelm from the sheer number of misdeeds; coordinated foreign interference; destruction of K-12 education; racist grievance culture; unchecked gross inequity.

Merlyn’s! A great spot to see up and comers their day. I know that U2 played there, Scott Ian of Anthrax told me had a special place in his heart for it (I met him once walking down a London street; he was with the guys from Living Color. 1989.

Okay so it turns out that the FaceID “require attention” is overzealous, but I got back in by changing my glasses. Not even kidding. I have two pairs with me and I swapped it out to the other. I will set up a few alternate IDs once my phone stops being marked as stolen.

Apple Support was great.
Does anyone with an iPhone have FaceID stop working? Mine has before and it seems have happened again. Stolen Phone protection has to be off to redo the scan, but it requires FaceID to do it. So I can’t get into anything that uses it. Help?

We’re trying to disable the stolen phone setting. So that I can rescan my face. But now I’m locked out of doing so because Stolen Phone setting requires a FaceID, which is not being recognized, and is what I’m trying to reset. This is a huge pain in the ass and I don’t think effective against theft.

I’m on the phone with Apple. I can’t reset FaceID because I’m on some kind of delay for changing the Stolen Device setting. Which is still reading as being on.

So I’m locked out of my own phone and casual thief could break this. I bet this happens a lot.

I don’t see any mechanism by which to add a “significant location”. I’m trying to get into my medical chart and info and now this.

I’m in the hospital. ;)

Yep.

This would include Passwords app too.

And by they I mean “we,” thanks to taxes and a destroyed federal government.

I want to know how much they’re paying El Salvador for this.

As a double alumna of UVA, I am appalled and disgusted by this pathetic and 100% unnecessary caving in to the corrupt power grab by the Trump administration. Add to that the underhanded behavior of the Board of Visitors lying and manipulating President Ryan into resigning. It’s obscene.

again for everyone insisting—whether out of ignorance or malice almost moot at this point—that this is a “good deal” for UVA: why would you “deal” at all?
