Yep, it didn't take me much arithmetic to work out that half of the population are women and having just wiped out 33 pay equity claims those women cannot afford 12 % deductions from money that they haven't got. Fuck the Coalition.

Um, this Nats KiwiSaver thing?

Default contributions (matched by employers)

1 April 2026 3.5%
1 April 2028 4.0%
1 April 2029 4.5%
1 April 2030 5.0%
1 April 2031 5.5%
1 April 2032 6.0%

2025 wage growth 2.9%
So minus 1% = 1.9% a yr

Year 3 your raise is wiped out
KiwiSaver costs out of your pocket

Normally political skeets are tainted with hyperbole, drama and exaggeration.

This was not one of those times.

Let me just put it to you that I am laser focussed on hearing the PM’s attempt to regain the control of this spin cycle.

Woo-hoo! Robert McCulloch, Professor of macroeconomics at Auckland University, telling it how it is on RNZ checkpoint. National’s meaningless spin announcement over KiwiSaver. 👏👏👏

Today's flavour is Burgundee Creaming Soda that appears to be made from grapes? & has me so curious because A) Where is Burgundee? B) What do the Burgundees think Creaming Soda is?

I have tried it & I have to say firstly it tastes like creaming soda mixed with grape juice, yet still I like it 7/10

I feel so much more fondly for this than I did when it came out, 1995 BBC P&P for life but I can enjoy this on on another level
‘Pride & Prejudice’ starring Keira Knightley, Matthew Macfadyen, Donald Sutherland, Rosamund Pike, Brenda Blethyn, Carey Mulligan, Kelly Reilly, Jena Malone, and Judi Dench opened in theaters in North America on this day twenty years ago 🎭 💍 💞 #OTD

Everyone, I have written to Dr Verrall saying that the lack of a formal statement from the Labour Party decrying the new blockers policy is unacceptable.

Please email her politely and ask her to issue a formal statement on behalf of Labour.
The Greens and TPM have both issued good statements.
Everyone please write to labour:

Chris Hipkins
Ayesha Verrall
Shanan Halbert
Duncan Webb (as this is a human rights issue)

And ask them to make a strong statement saying they will instantly repeal the regulation. Apply as much pressure as possible to the Government.

Mike Hosking is wrong about the results of the UK Covid Inquiry this morning. The inquiry found an earlier lockdown could have saved 23k lives. It did find that "stringent restrictions short of a mandatory lockdown" if imposed earlier could have avoided a lockdown – which is diff from "unnecessary".
