It's that horrible damp cold in Te Whanganui-a-Tara today, the graveyard clamminess that seeps into your bones, that creeps under your clothes, the feeling of mould edging its way, silently, into your lungs, the wooden shack miasma that never quite seems to dry out

“This development overrides clinical judgment. It denies families a say in their own children’s healthcare, and it sets a dangerous precedent where politicians, not doctors, control treatment.

This ban will not protect young people — it will hurt many.”

The fact that a second strike like that in an armed conflict is definitely a war crime should not completely negate the fact that *there is no war* and ALL the strikes are cold-blooded murder. The whole chain of command are murderers.

I watch Al Jazeera when I'm at the gym, and this morning, the thing that struck me whilst watching yet another story about the IDF murdering Palestinians during a supposed ceasefire is whether anyone would have stopped the Holocaust of Hitler hadn't invaded Poland?

This, among millions of other reasons, is why any attempt to meet transphobes in the middle was always a form of abandoning trans people.

Like immigrant demonization, any attempt at all to give any credence to right wing talking points was always just ammunition for the right wing.
BREAKING: Trump administration plans to end prison rape protections for trans & intersex people, memo says. A DOJ memo says certain standards under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) do not align with Trump’s Jan. 20 anti-trans executive order, @byadamrhodes.bsky.social reports.

Video Shows Second Strike Hit Before Survivors Could Flip Boat

By Maegan Vazquez and Noah Robertson

“There was no boat. There was wreckage. There was no radio. There were two guys clinging to a tiny non-awash portion of the keel of a capsized boat."

The rare list where I can't quibble with the choices or rankings. The lack of Kate Bush (beyond being mentioned in the Peter Gabriel write-up) is the only major whiff. (And, yes, this is a very Gen-X list, which is appropriate because Spin was the most Gen-X music mag when music mags mattered.)

Lists like this are set up to fail, and, in line with the inevitable, this one fails too.  But we never kidded ourselves, nor intended to kid you, that

Vinnie's in Newtown has a couple of pretty good computer desks on sale for $50 each. One is a metal one that folds flat.

And the Sallies had a lovely Burleigh Ironstone Mosaic coffee set in yesterday, in perfect condition.

The only thing that's unsustainable on this planet is wealth being hoarded to such an extent that it encroaches on research, development, and education that would resolve all of our societal issues.

Immigration isn't unsustainable, being a rich cunt is.

500 000 people visit Oxford Street on an average day, so that means you have a roughly 1 in 27 000 chance of having your phone nicked 🙄

It found ADHD is massively underdiagnosed with less than 1 in 20 people over 40 receiving treatment.

It said GPs need to be diagnosing it.

Instead a review has been launched looking into it being 'overdiagnosed'

See also COVID “lockdowns” and needing to wear masks in order to not get or spread a dangerous virus. And because people can’t do the latter—hell, apparently most people can’t even say the word “COVID” anymore—we’re a far from getting rid of it.
it is MIRACULOUS that we got rid of lead paint and asbestos when we did. if we had tried that today, there would be people whining about how we're restricting their rights.
