Words can buzz and hum like insects in the air.

I'm not actually a cat. But that's a secret.

Breaking up some anchovy fillets for a home-made pizza, had a sudden memory of when I first tasted them.

My older sister had taken me, at about ten years old, for pizza and a movie (she's ten years older than me), and one of the pizzas she ordered had anchovies on it.

So, how's your turning around going?

It amuses me how every long weekend the mother of one of our downstairs neighbours comes to visit.

And even visit has the same pattern of a loud late night full of laughter, then the next day is entirely full of the sounds of cleaning and vacuum cleaning.

Ahh, mums, eh?

@wariotifo.bsky.social I'm going to follow you simply because you have The Un-Americans as your header picture.

Oh. And that other stuff. That other stuff is pretty important, too.

Oh Lordy! It's kakapo porn season on Bluesky in Aotearoa.
Three more #kakapo matings last night:
Whenua Hou:
- Nora 💚 Tutoko
- Pura 💚 Gulliver
Anchor:
- Toitiiti 💚 Deans
Great to see genetically important Gulliver mating, and matriarch Nora starting - her first known nest was in 1981! Here she is on her 2019 nest. #conservation #parrots

Let me guess, Shane Jones is seeking urgent advice as to how to make the story go away without any extra funding for enforcement.

Seems unfair that you only get to use the bouncy slide to get off a plane when things have gone wrong. The bouncy slide should be a treat they give to the best passengers who did the flight correctly.

Oh, I'll add to this another element of the huge resource-waster that is AI. Not only do actual living breathing people have to fix the AI slop, but they also have to train their fucking managers so they can understand that what the AI is generating is slop.

Intending to make a home-made version of a doner kebab, I decided to go buy some naan bread from Morteza Kebab in Newtown; I'd heard people rave about it.

Justly so - the best naan bread I've been able to buy to take home for my own use. Delicious.

Joy is: a hot day, a dog in the back seat of a car, head out the window, ears flapping and tounge loling in the breeze.

Had a moment just now, remembering Cypher. How he'd mew for me as a kitten, how stressed he'd get when I went out, how he would find the warmest part of any room and just watch. And when he got old tired how he'd bite me to tell me things hurted.

Then the way he held my hand as the drugs flowed in.

Or, to put it another way: the US annexing Greenland will entirely destroy the post-WWII international order. NATO will be no more.
...
And, looking at the way this administration thinks about international affairs, this is entirely what their intention is.
The ultimate outcome of a war in Greenland is not that the US would lose to Europe in Greenland, it's that US will lose to China everywhere and Europe won't lift a finger to help.
