Words can buzz and hum like insects in the air.

I'm not actually a cat. But that's a secret.

Tawatawa. Pōneke. Aotearoa.

I was BuzzAndHum. I stil am.
Wait. What.
When I tell you that Chocolate Salame is #RecipeOfTheDay, don’t be alarmed! It’s just the Italian version of a chocolate refrigerator cake, fashioned to resemble salame. I’ve upped the ante with hazelnuts, pistachios, amaretti biscuits and Amaretto. www.nigella.com/recipes/choc...

I’ve encountered quite a few versions of chocolate salame in Italy — coming to the conclusion that it’s really an Italian version of our chocolate refrigerator cake — and although I am not normally a ...

Shocking if true.
I don’t want to pick a fight with all the mums but… I’ve treated many people who had been hit by a car and never once noted the condition of their underwear

"Wrapped in bacon?"

You've never had grilled cheese until it's been wrapped in bacon.
Reading this sounds delicious, but then I got to the last sentence and the taste buds on my tongue exploded out of my mouth.
So, hear me out:

A wholegrain wrap, very lightly smeared with some olive oil and tomato paste.

Add fresh mozzarella and a bit of gruyere, some torn basil leaves, a little bit of prosciutto, a good grind of black pepper.

Then wrap in streaky bacon and bake for 30 minutes.

Just not the spull we were hoping for.

Which lines of poetry live rent-free in my head?

I know this is almost a cliche, but:

"Gas. GAS! Quick boys! An ecstacy of fumbling."
Which lines of poetry live rent-free in your head?

Dreamed I saw a building with a thousand floors
A thousand windows and a thousand doors….

Also:

I do not dream of Sussex Downs,
Of quaint old England’s quaint old towns…

Systemic?

Oh, no, it's never systemic. Just ask them, they'll explain at length how it's not systemic.
So much to process from this interview so I'm just going to hyperfocus on how Mark Mitchell and Brian Roche are very, very concerned about Andrew Coster "relitigating" things

Oops did your fall guy not understand he was meant to take ALL the blame for the systemic problems you're complicit in
Exclusive: Coster claims Hipkins and Mitchell told about McSkimming
In an interview with Q+A, the former police commissioner spoke for the first time since the damning IPCA report on the McSkimming scandal.

Informal briefings are used to stay off the radar. If you intend anything to done by an organisation, you make it a formal briefing/communication. So even if Coster is telling the truth, he didn't want anything to happen.

Watching "Conclave".

I've been meaning to watch this for a while.

How does Ralph Fiennes do that? A little tilt of his head, an upwards glance of his eyes; everything he does conveys such multitudes without saying a word.

The guy is pretty much like Brezhnev.

He's dead, but the political ramifications of his passing means everyone keeps propping him up, declaring "long live our leader!"

I'm still very annoyed how the supermarket in the Wellington railway station closed. It really was so very convenient and, well, convenient.

The space is still unused, I think. Wonder how those economics are working out for the landlords.

What the biathlon really needs is, 15 seconds after each competitor starts, a cage containing a ravenous polar bear is opened.

Now, that'll make controlling your breathing and heart-rate interesting.
I love the biathlon

"with you so far"

"one of them is cross-country skiing"

"sure, yes, sounds like winter, I like it"

"the other one is shooting a gun"
