Man this is actually so fascinating, esp. bc this is all from the 90s originally and we knew so little, how quickly our understanding of the digital has evolved in the past 25 yrs + how the storytelling has adapted and been fed by new technologies, making the DigiWorld world building so much richer
That was commented on by Kakudou after Habu asked about it during a Digimon Story Hacker's Memory livestream. There are some mistakes in the subs below, but I think it's good enough to get the understanding of the topic.

everytime I tell people about my cats I inevitably end up talking about digimon because how else do I explain that Tobu is named after an obscure digimon that had a cameo in a frontier comic (had dinner with a friend last night & she asked about my cats names and I talked about digimon for 15 mins)
