I'm constantly fascinated by how people engage with popular media and how revealing it can be towards one's media opinions depending on what they parrot. A lot of reductive battle shonen takes I see today for example remind me of the reductive Evangelion and K-On takes of the early 2010s.

I try not to post about this *too* much but if you've worked in animated media of any kind then your job is always occasionally framed in a way where someone at some point will assume you'd be a great elementary school art teacher or babysitter, or what have you. Because animation=cartoons= kids.

I think the funniest part of watching the animation at the climax of the Chainsaw Man movie was going "I remember this from Black Clover episode 63 & 83!" over and over again.
That was good as hell. The Chainsaw Man movie is the first season iterated on in key ways to tell a much punchier story- which works for the scope of the story arc is adapts! I hope a new director is brought on for S2 because I want more new interpretations of S1's ethos! Good time at da movies :)))

I hope a new director is brought on for S2 because I want more new interpretations of S1's ethos! Good time at da movies :)))

I try not to follow too much online discourse, but the fan reaction to One Punch Man season 3 made me realize- it's time to truly put a moratorium on the idea that if you don't like something as a fan, that you can harass the staff to get the quality you want. Sonic movie 1 was years ago. Stop it!

I spent the last few days at Lightbox Expo meeting new people, which was quite nice. But now I have to catch an early morning flight home. Glad I managed this trip in the end. Happy to have made it another year, and looking forward to more. :)
