i do a lot of thinking - making random notes on my phone - taking a photo - maybe a voice note... then i just write something - not nec the start - but something i can see clearly and then the rest when I can

Sorry it happened to you - awful. the bank can cover the potential fraud prevention advice, and if you have a credit agency, see if they can offer advice as well. In terms of online - I'm not sure what you can do - bar change any password related to all sites in case they are based on that info

also sign up to a credit ref account and keep an eye on applications etc

Verify that the message from your provider is genuine: check info on their website, call them from a number you found via Google (not a link in the email), and ask for their advice. Then ring your bank and let them know what happened, and see what they say.
