Anderson and Esme are chalk and cheese.
1st time they argue, Esme tries to assault Anderson, Anderson knocks her out and puts her in a car. 2nd time is in the car later, Anderson just cocks her gun but doesn't say anything. Esme then causes the car to crash.
Their relationship is a work in progress

Let's talk about conflict!

What is something your character and the person closest to them fight about?

Is one side clearly in the right, or is it ambiguous?

How do they resolve their dispute? Or do they?

Stop thinking, start doing. Sounds trite, but focus on an emotion & write something in your WIP that reflects that - so if you're anxious, write a scene with angst at its core. If it makes you angry, go angry scene. The power of emotions/feelings over the brain is staggering. Use it to your benefit.

listening to a national radio DJ talk about his book he's been 'writing' for 3 years with all these awesome national newspaper /glossy mag reviews, and you do wonder how a wannabe #author like me or others are supposed to compete with that ready-made avenue of publisher promotion and publicity...

Welcome to Fascism
I honestly can’t remember any prior AG being this overtly disrespectful in a Congressional hearing.

They really think they’re never going to be in the minority.

Maybe I memory holed it, but personal attacks on members of Congress during testimony just seems so out of bounds.

30 day books-by-women challenge! Choose 30 books, one per day, no particular order, that you’ve read that were written by women.
(A good novel. She was writing it when Robert Doisneau snapped her in Paris in 1948. She didn't know until later.)

Bought a new desk pen holder thing (technical term that)- a spinning around one - and seeing all my dust-covered pens in it gives me a disproportionate amount of joy... 🤦

Hmm, ok, probably a word for it - when you see an oboss from an old work life appear in the BBC news headlines and not for a good reason...

As for the article - no comment.

I was lucky enough to work on Wuthering Heights last March, on a freezing-cold day when we filmed in a National Trust park. All I remember about the time was a) it was just bloody cold out b) the heater in one of the trailers broke c) makeup started at 4 am for all the extras.

I have a few questions...
February 10, 2026 at 4:53 PM
Where did you get the idea for your book?

The current WIP was called Beyond Use, a phrase from the Good Friday Agreement that describes what the IRA did with its weapons. What does that even mean?

It's norm a really simple question or idea which makes me write my films/plays

FAQ about writing

Where did you get the idea for your book?

I wrote character descriptions, then I laid out an outline starting with the beginning and ending. Then I filled in the outline by creating character arcs for each character and working out how the pieces fit together.

Anderson - she'd prob just stare at you in silence for a good few seconds before heading to the nearest airport.
Rourke - ask where the nearest bar is
Imogen - the terrorist. Why am I here? You want me to blow this lot up? Excellent. On it.

It's the Olympics right now, and all your characters are going!

What are they doing? Are they an athlete? Spectating? Which sport would they like to watch/do?

Or are they just enjoying the free trip to Italy?

Late to this one -currently working on, as well as the novel, how to turn two full-length plays into a double-show for something like Ed Fringe, on the shared theme of - things are not what they seem... one a ghost story, one a story about cannibalism... at least that's what audiences will think

Monday’s suck. So, I thought I’d try a Monday prompt game. What WIPs or ideas do you not talk about as much? Or random ideas you’ve had that have added to you WIP pile lately? What are you excited to work on?

No rules. Just blab! 😁
