My view up a ladder today pinching the candles on a Niwaki style pine. Ornamental garden trees with native oak and ash trees in the background

Henderson's shooting stars (Dodecatheon hendersonii) blooming in the oak woodland at my place. I am honored to be the caretaker of these timeless plants!

Pacific bleeding hearts, one of my favorite flowers. I have them available in 4" pots at my nursery.

Extinction is one of the most depressing things there is. I totally get wanting to reverse it.

BUT.

There are things you can be doing right now to PREVENT further extinctions. Consider how you're using your property (even if you rent). Can you create habitat on the area you control? This helps!

Erythranthe guttata, the seep monkeyflower. All they need to thrive is sun, water, and a bit of soil. Just like me! Except I need pizza too.

Most of our remaining camas populations are mowed, plowed, or overgrazed. I propagated these seeds from a camas population in a local cemetary. The seedlings sure are eager!!! These will be planted in local natural areas and gardens.

Spring is in full swing at my native plant nursery. Wildflowers both wild and cultivated are springing forth! The bees have awakened. They are hungry!
