I literally had a buddy say to me earlier today (in making the argument that it wouldn’t be so bad if the Ellisons bought WB) “CBS has not turned into Fox News and I bet it never does.”
There are no good guys in the WB sale but I have no doubt who the “worst guy” is.

I'm not going to pretend these are bad films (I don't even mind the Woody film) but this doesn't exactly scream "voracious cinephile with a near-encyclopedic knowledge of genre and world cinema" so much as "dad who watches a lot of TNT."

Between this and the $40 million Melania doc the Trump administration is basically a jobs program for creepy, uber-hack, Brett Ratner (the irony being he couldn't make any hay of his former business partner being the literal Secretary of the Treasury).

Only just dawned on me that this Team Coco podcast (of the famed "Jeff Epstein, the New York financier" line) featured key supporting players from two of the best films of the year.
Which is really my way of saying I did not recognize Jim Downey with a mustache.

I'm not a budget scold; it's not my money & I appreciate actual production value on screen. But making AFTER THE HUNT at these numbers is certifiable.

This revenue waterfall is for the new TRON which is not apples and apples with ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER (one is franchise IP the other an R-rated drama, etc) but it's instructive to reference when people talk about how "unprofitable" OBAA is (it cost $90M less than TRON and is sitting at ≈160M WW).
