I’m waiting by the phone….

Oh @BBCRadio4, you have managed to broadcast a profile of Sarah Mullally recorded in 2017, when she was first made Bishop of London. It’s full of questions like “How do you think you will handle the tensions in the Diocese of London?”

Erm…. a lot has happened since then.

Please be aware that some Ministry Experience Schemes promoted by the Church of England are in fact run independently. That may mean that they are not subject to the same employment and safeguarding standards as a CofE role.

Wishing everyone participating in the Ministry Experience Scheme - including these young adults from the Diocese of Leicester - a fruitful year ahead!

Record numbers of young people are beginning a year experiencing ministry in churches across the country this month.

Find out more at cofe.io/MES.

Two million people have signed a petition against Digital ID cards.

They signed it online, of course, voluntarily giving their name, email address, postcode and citizenship status.

Duh!
andrewgraystone.bsky.social
Those of you who are worrying about Digital ID invading your privacy….i guess you don’t make contactless payments, or have a supermarket loyalty card.

I’m organising a mass opinion poll on migration.

If you believe that Britain benefits from having more migrants joining us from around the world, please indicate by hanging a large PLUS sign on a lamppost close to your house.

Ringo isn’t the best parking app in the world. It’s not even the best parking app in Dorset.

It’s worth remembering that Richard Tice’s understanding of Christian faith was formed by his time at Iwerne camps.

Richard Tice has been misinformed. Telling politicians when they fall short of God’s standards is PRECISELY what church leaders are called to do. I’m currently writing about Micah and, compared with the ferocious prophet, @archbishopofyork.org let him off lightly. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

I’ve just learnt that dogs can’t tell the difference between red and yellow.

I guess that’s why they are so bad at Connect 4.

I’ll just leave this here.
Advert for The Esther Revolution, a conference which describes itself as the UK Women Convention 2025z the poster shows a line of five young black women, presumably taking part in the convention. In front of them, at the centre and much larger, is a black man with a microphone.

Following today’s horrendous data breach by the Church of England, the church’s Secretary General William Nye, who has overall responsibility for safeguarding, must resign.

The government also needs to step in to stop the church managing its own safeguarding failures.
andrewgraystone.bsky.social
If you are a survivor of church abuse and you have been damaged by today’s horrendous data leak, you are not alone.

If you need someone to talk to, DM me at ANY time (or call me if you already have my number).

You are not alone. Andrew

It has been four hours now since the Church of England leaked the names and email addresses of almost 200 survivors of church abuse.

No bishop or safeguarding official has resigned.

The church has made no statement.

Worst of all, none of the survivors affected has been contacted to offer support.

There are 32,000 asylum seekers in UK hotels needing alternative accommodation.

There are approximately 38,500 churches in the UK.

“We can’t separate faith from the things that we do.”

Andrew, a writer and journalist who, along with his wife, Jane, has hosted with us since 2023.

We spoke to him about faith, the joy of hosting, and 50 years of @greenbeltfestival.bsky.social.

It looks as though many hotels currently housing asylum seekers are going to be closed at short notice because of a court ruling.

This would be a great moment for churches to step up and offer alternative accommodation in homes and families.

If your A level results are disappointing, remember that Jesus didn’t get any A levels.

But he did have a very well-connected Father.
