This is just one example of #Microsoft total disregard for consumer rights and privacy. #Windows is being enshitified with AI, and cloud features consumers do not want. I'm currently writing a blog post about it, and why I no longer recommend Windows to friends and family. Switch to macOS or Linux.

This is going to be a very unproductive call to my mobile provider's level 1 support person. I'm unable to find the contact info for routing issues at TPG.

I was a Kickstarter backer for the original. I played it multiple times and enjoyed it.
I'm having loads of fun with Replaylee. That is what matters.

The other major issue I see is that most students have no way to validate that the information that the AI is giving them is accurate.
You have very little prior knowledge at that age, and providing them with access to a tool that is known to hallucinate seems like a recipe for disaster.

Because advertising and profiling is invading every single commercial offering. At the same time, user choice is being gradually removed in order to create inescapable conversion funnels to increase sales and boost shareholders value.
The only option we have as users is to control our own tech. 🐧

I'm changing the no to few. I've yet to see an ISP who is granting a static IP *by default* today in Australia, Canada or the US, but it seems that there are some ISPs elsewhere.
After research, there seems to be one in the UK which doesn't charge an additional fee, so fair enough.

The last platform where cheating is so rampant that most shooters are not fun?
And it won't be mandatory. You can choose to not play those titles. No one is forcing you to.
You can even only toggle them on when you play protected titles if you wish.

You as a user, have a choice to turn those features on or off. That's great. They have a choice to allow you onto their services or not **for security reasons**. That's okay as well.
When it comes to attesting that ads cannot be blocked, that's when it becomes problematic. This, however, isn't.

As a service provider, I can also refuse you access to my service if I judge you a risk to my users. Why would a business provide VPN access to an employee who's laptop is compromised by themselves or by an external actor? Why should a AC be forced to grant access to a player who's running cheats?

I did back in 2023 when that proposal came out. I also did a CTRL+F for "Secure Boot", "TPM", "Trusted Platform Module" and got no results.
Yes, some technologies are there to protect the user from external threats, and from the user themselves as well. But as a user, YOU CAN TURN THEM OFF.

I definitely took a shortcut there and forgot to specify residential ISPs, but I'm surprised to hear that isn't even true.
Are you sure you have a static IP, and not a very long lease dynamic one? Lots of ISPs have long leases; static IPs are contractually assigned to you.

And by that logic, we should stop using or deploying HTTPS because governments could decide they are the only ones issuing certificates and control what we are allowed to see; so is it really a security feature? /s
All technology can be used for good or bad. Not everything has a nefarious purpose.

I'm surprised that so many people still have MBR/legacy boot based installations of Windows, when the default has been GPT/EFI for close to a decade.
Then again, I found out as I was doing a bit of research that my partner's PC had SB off due to me installing Win via Ventoy. It was my own doing.

You don't need root, /dev/tpmrm0 exposes the TPM through the resource manager for managed access.
If your user is part of the tss group, you should be able to use userspace tools like tpm2-tools.

I'm definitely looking forward to it! I enjoyed watching the VoDs for your DS1 and DS2 playthrough.
Hopefully they will be less viewer invasions this time. You were spoiled a few times during your DS2 playthrough.

Sure, that's your choice.
I'm also avoiding those games for a different reason (toxicity). But I personally find it important to understand the reason behind their choice instead of having a knee jerk reaction and basing my position on the opinion of people who don't understand those systems.

Meanwhile, I purchased a Switch 2 Bundle with the new Mario Kart, and I couldn't activate the game because the code they give you in the bundle is apparently region locked while the console isn't.
I switched region, but then can't renew Nintendo Online because my Paypal isn't Australian enough.
