Fucked up is an understatement! I'm just wondering if the few Americans left who legitimately thought he was what he pretended he was, will finally cry uncle. He's relying on it being hard to admit they're wrong.

Love this article! And I’m very much looking forward to the new “One Day” series. For too long we’ve been inundated with a global negativity. I believe it’s blinded people to the everyday good that surrounds us, and we need that view. To quote Gandalf (Tolkien):

his help to bring it further and any comments only adds a distraction that could be used to reignite the racist base back to home camp.

There may be a time for that but this isn’t it. It’s the mindless supporters that need turning, and he’s not going to accomplish that.

I agree with him not saying anything at this point. Think about it. His was a presidency that polarized a lot of Americans who were, and still are, racist and bigoted at their core. Right now, the video evidence speaks for itself. The right continues to pour gas on their own fires, it doesn’t need

I should have been clearer in that first part - “…double the cost of all Canadians goods AMERICANS purchase.”
January 24, 2026 at 9:25 PM
Meanwhile, Canadians are finding other international markets to sell those goods to compensate for the American sales loss.
January 24, 2026 at 9:21 PM
Someone needs to translate this for Americans. “Trump threatens to nearly double the cost of all Canadian goods they purchase.“
January 24, 2026 at 9:20 PM
This really should read “Carney’s invitation to ‘Board Of Peace’ withdrawn after objections from Trump, Netanyahu, Lex Luthor, Megatron”

One of our favourite stops on our hikes through the Vernon Nature Trail near Kenora is for the chickadees by the picnic tables. The feel of them as they land on to pick the bits of birdseed we hold out for them is magical! If you’ve never experienced this and have the opportunity, do it!

…and I guess this means someone finally translated Carney’s speech to him.

lol This was exactly my first thought on reading that.

Remember way back then when you knew that one kid who would actually say things like “FINE!! I’ll just take my ball and go home then.”

I used to wonder what happens to kids like that. At least that’s one question answered.

I wonder who’s the father?

I was thinking this exact thing. He would need a translator whispering in his ear, as if it were some foreign language.

I can't believe Canadians are still visiting the USA, for any reason. Any. Reason. There are none.
January 20, 2026 at 7:31 AM
Well at least they didn't report on what the attack plan is.

I prefer the Americans think we'll retreat into our igloos and rely on our attack beavers for defence, throwing frozen hockey pucks only if necessary.

For future reference, what often works is to have one person pull and hold the hood release. The other person give a few rapid pushes down on the hood. Put a bit of weight behind the push, and press nearer the front which has stronger structural support. It will usually break free.

The only good that MAY come out of this current regime is if it instigates an overhaul of systems so that these incompetents can NEVER come into positions of power again.

There are a lot of common practices like this in Winnipeg. Though slightly different, my personal favourite are the people who complain about rolling through a stop sign yet regularly drive 5-10 kms above the speed limit. Apparently traffic laws can be selectively followed.

It does show how surprisingly inadequate and ineffective their mechanisms are to protect themselves from a corrupt government.

But it’s also a warning to the world. Greater education, news accountability/fact checking, and excessive wealth breeding corruption are much needed areas for improvement.
