I do wonder about scientific research. Is it possible to have innovation/breakthroughs when there’s only one hive mind? It’ll be interesting to see if the hive mind can make big advancements (such as “solving” why Carol can’t be joined) or will just tweak what science already exists.

And, is this a new stage of human civilization, or the end of it? I’m 4 episodes in and surprised Carol, a frustrated writer, hasn’t even registered that no new art will ever exist. I mean, why work on that novel/painting/symphony when you and everyone else is already blissfully happy?

And thought provoking. My 2 big questions: What does the alien virus represent. AI? iPhone addiction? Or is the series a comment on White Privilege? (Did love the moment in ep. 2 when Carol’s like “Who cares if racism and poverty are solved. I’M NOT HAPPY.”)
