I've been hanging with the hollow men who never got the groove..HUFC following, record collecting, Greyhound dad and ex gadabout. #Fridayvinyl.- every Friday, I have a few beers, play LP's and post pictures of them. Dreary Moron.
Same! I well up every time. It's absolute pop perfection.

Don't think he played in the NE either, hence my travelling to Liverpool..Cheers for that Tom, I'll dig it out and see how it stands up. Hard to believe it's been almost 8 years since he last played and I saw him on which now looks like his swansong. I live in hope he's got one more in him..

It was the first AC album that left me slightly underwhelmed, I went to the accompanying tour and also found it lacking...With some distance, it's now a firm favourite and I'd love to relive that night at Liverpool Royal Court! Totally agree with your points on DSD and Black Lucia, wonderful song.

Knowing of your love of the black stuff, I scanned the comments to see if anyone had mentioned this game changer yet... Duncan man, I can't extol it's virtues enough. surely you've given it a go?

Hate that feeling Ian, always takes me a week to get back into it...Incidentally,I was just mulling over what to listen to after Freakzone. You've put me in the mood for some Frank. Watertown or In The Wee Small Hours?

Thing is Duncan, I wouldn't even suggest you come home, what with that odious fucking toad ready and waiting to copy and capitalise on their Führerprinzip playbook. What do we do? What can we do?

After Mavers' disownment I recall feelin' "Should I like this?" That trepidation only lasted a beat or two. Whatever he felt was missing, I couldn't hear it. It remains a stunning record, so out of its time but instantly timeless (Melody). Untouched by diminishing returns, it's quite the monument.

Got to be Islay Stu, the peatier, the smokier the better. I've tried Smokehead which was a bit of a let down and I'm currently making a hole in an Ardbeg 10 but you never forget your first love.. Laphroaig ftw...Think I've got a twisted taste for Iodine!😂

Any record that cites Ivor Cutler and Al Green as influences has to be great, right? Right.
