The fog came down and the river overflowed, the ghost of the path just visible below the water. In Celtic myth fog was linked to Annwn, the otherworld. The norse believed it was the perpetual state off Niflheim, the land of cold and fog.

The trees always watch, they look at the scurrying things the other creatures do, living huge chunks of their lives in the time it takes to produce a branch strong enough for them to climb on. In the twilight, alone, you can feel trees like this one...watching.....

The disused church at Greater Haubois in Norfolk, this is the only bit which still has a roof and is occasionally used as part of funeral services as there are recent burials.

When I saw this piece of dead wood it looked almost skeletal, like bleached bones, and in monochrome would look even more gothic and mysterious. I'm very drawn to the forms of gnarled, dead of old wood at the moment.
