"You look like you read romance when you actually read Junji Ito."

She/her.
Who's the singer? I don't think I know about that. I've watched a lot of cult documentaries, but no podcasts.

I'm not trying to convince you of anything. It is however frustrating when any attempt at a balanced discussion about her unique position within the cult is being shut down with "oh, so you think she's innocent?".

Cults are complicated. I know well what things she took part in, but I think her side of the story would be valuable to know. Particularly the point where she went from a victim to actively victimizing others.

Acknowledging that real people are more than one thing is not excusing their actions.

You are misinterpreting me.

When I said she did unforgivable things, I meant that. Pointing out that she was a victim of Raniere's herself doesn't mean that I think "ohh she was just a victim" and should now absolved of all guilt.

I know some people think that it's bad to see Mack as a victim herself, but I don't think so.

In cults, people are often victims and perpetrators both. It's simply the complicated truth and I think it's worth knowing about.

Haven't voted yet.

It's between When the Wolf Comes Home and The Buffalo Hunter Hunter for me. I wish I could've read Coffin Moon, but it's not even available here yet (been checking daily). Have been hearing good things about that one.

Happy to welcome you :)

I've been telling people, horror isn't just about being scared. It's got great stories 👍

I'm only able to vote in the horror category, but there are still few a books I wish I had time to read. The voting closes too soon for me.

I wanted to do that, but unfortunately it didn't work out money-wise. Life suddenly got so expensive.

Yeah, I heard that even ppl who liked the first book didn’t care for the sequel. When it comes to romance and fantasy together, I’m less trusting of ratings and hype. A lot of what’s popular doesn’t work for me at all.

I'm a bit worried it's gonna be like Divine Rivals. I didn't care for that one.
November 11, 2025 at 4:24 PM
I can't believe I still haven't gotten around to it.
November 11, 2025 at 4:22 PM
The Everlasting. I'll probably check it out at some point, but I don't know if I should trust the hype.
