Felt the ground shake a bit and wondered whether it was a small earthquake or maybe construction equipment. Checked the USGS site and got this:

I think the answer to this is no unless DHS pulls something out of their hat with the one big beautiful bill. What is true however is all those National Guard people they pulled off their paying jobs at home to pick up trash will be working without pay.

A reminder that the work requirements to maintain your eligibility for Medicaid in ACA-expansion states will also count unpaid work at volunteer organizations. The more orgs that close, the harder it will be to fulfill those work requirements and the more likely people get kicked off Medicaid.

Food pantry and food assistance work.

Because all the food pantries are shutting down, because of Trump cuts, just as people are starting to become food insecure again due to rising grocery prices.
