I really wish someone, somewhere, would do an impact assessment. On anything, really. Just because we can, doesn’t mean we should.
As so often in history, a woman sounded an early warning and was ignored…

Fewer workers. Fewer international students. More people leaving.

A "step in the right direction" according to the PM.

Impossible to take PM/govt seriously on growth if they are deliberately reducing it (and making the fiscal position worse) *as a matter of policy*.

We’re absolutely bonkers. We hate immigration and at the same time we hate children too. Over 50% think removing the two child benefit cap is wrong.

Being outside the EU is costing us £90billion a year.

The single biggest thing we could do to give people more money, more jobs, lower cost of living and more hope is to rejoin (at least) the single market. Everything else is rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic.

A bloke just called into LBC to opine that the act of making any trade deals whatsoever with any other countries is unpatriotic.
I think the human race just needs to die out now because we are *more stupid than guinea pigs*.
PS it wasn’t Rupert Lowe, either.

Listening to @mrjamesob.bsky.social talking about hybrid Russian threats I’m reminded of the time he interviewed James Patrick back in about 2017 and once again of that little book James wrote, Alternative War, and the report he sent to intelligence services in May that year. Goldfish come to mind.

Hoping @mrjamesob.bsky.social will be talking about how the ‘best and brightest’ young leaving was always an inevitable consequence of Brexit, similar to the 60s when we were the ‘sick man of Europe’ and had no FOM to facilitate temporary adventures abroad.

Rape of women has always been used as an act of war by men.
Because men who rape women do not see women as human, rather as a possession, a resource, and in some cases a possession of another man they want to win against.

Apparently today is World Menopause Day and it’s a great day ladies to find out what depleted oestrogen does to your body, especially your bones.
It’s not ‘just’ about hot flushes, menopause has serious effects on your body for the rest of your life.

I love how this group of men call themselves’Bash Back’, because that sounds kinda cutesy, rather than ‘punch back’ because that would of course remind everyone that they are in fact a group of violent men, behaving violently and threatening women with violence. www.bbc.com/news/article...

Folks, you can't report the United States to its manager. There's no superhero coming to save us.

We don't need one giant act of heroism. We need millions of small acts of solidarity. Help one person in your community for nothing in return. Then, do it again. And again.

That's the revolution.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social if Brigitte Macron is going to entertain this abject rubbish all she needs to do is provide a simple DNA cheek swab. Not photographs, not ‘legal evidence’. It’s not complicated to determine who is male and who is female.

As we continue to roll the red carpet over Airstrip One and arrest people for projecting genuine photographs onto a building, I can’t help noticing Camilla’s choice of outfit is awfully similar to a rather well known one worn by her late mother in law. If only she’d done the flowers on the hat.
