I compiled some thoughts on the strategic implications of Ukraine’s audacious “Operation Spiderweb”

A lot of folks are talking about the immediate impact, but I wanted to focus on how this strike will reverberate globally.

Unlocked for everyone.

Fuck this.

This is nothing but red meat for Trump’s base. A federal law that *Trump* signed into law guarantees backpay to furloughed workers. There’s no disputing this.
moreperfectunion.bsky.social
A new White House memo says that furloughed federal workers aren't entitled to back pay.

This is clearly against the law, which guarantees furloughed federal employees back pay for the duration of a government shutdown.

If this was a no, it would be really easy to say no.

Bondi’s ad hominem attack on Whitehouse is WAY more of an answer than she realizes.
atrupar.com
NOTABLE -- Pam Bondi refuses to answer direct questions about if the FBI has incriminating photos of Trump with half-naked young women, but instead deflects from them by attacking Sen. Whitehouse
angrystaffer.bsky.social
Wow, Chiefs.

That’s a hell of a play to probably lose the game on.
angrystaffer.bsky.social
Trump is claiming no inflation.

He knows that, unlike him, we actually do our own shopping and know that’s bullshit, right?
angrystaffer.bsky.social
Even if you support massive deportation operations, under no circumstances should ANYONE be ok with US citizens being forcibly removed from their homes and detained without explanation.

This is a clear violation of their constitutional rights and should universally condemned.
angrystaffer.bsky.social
I think if you burn an American flag, you’re probably an asshole.

That being said, I’ll defend your right to do so with everything I have.

Symbolic speech is protected by the First Amendment, and no imaginary executive order from Trump changes that.
dbernstein.bsky.social
Oh he can just unilaterally pass unconstitutional laws now huh ok
angrystaffer.bsky.social
Did you know that your healthcare premiums are about to double because the GOP is intentionally sabotaging the Affordable Care Act and pretending that Democrats are trying to give undocumented immigrants free insurance?
angrystaffer.bsky.social
Alright folks, gotta stop there for now!

Thanks for spending part of your Friday with me. <3
angrystaffer.bsky.social
Nope. We’re being run by incels and governed by memes. It’s fucking absurd.
angrystaffer.bsky.social
They probably *could* but that would likely start the war that Trump is so desperately looking for.

And Trump could also likely federalize the Guard in that scenario, or at least try to.
angrystaffer.bsky.social
Nope. Not even for a second. I’m not going to let these assholes chase me out of my country - I care about it a lot more than they do.
angrystaffer.bsky.social
It should be getting wall to wall coverage. It’s crazy.

And re: Miller, I’ve met like 2 people that like him… ever.

Some Republicans like what he’s managing to do with his power, but most of them despise him as a person.
angrystaffer.bsky.social
According to polling, it’s already backfiring, at least politically.

The GOP isn’t going to stop them from doing what they’re doing, but they’re certainly going to pay for it come voting time.

Unless we’re going to go on a nationwide strike, voting is really our only reasonable way out of this.
angrystaffer.bsky.social
Currently at screaming into the void. Not quite at OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT, yet.
angrystaffer.bsky.social
Who is that and why do they look like they ate Ted Cruz?
angrystaffer.bsky.social
Unfortunately, the voters put them in a terrible position.

They could demand constraints on Trump’s power, but they might as well demand a dragon that farts rainbows.

They see healthcare as something they could actually get, which is why that’s the line they drew in the sand.
angrystaffer.bsky.social
I think we’re seeing *some* good messaging for the Dems, but I would like to see Pete on Fox every day blasting out those exact talking points.

So far, the GOP is polling way higher on blame for the shutdown anyway (17 points in the WaPo poll).

We should keep hammering that home, though.
angrystaffer.bsky.social
Miller. Vance doesn’t have much of a say in anything
angrystaffer.bsky.social
The former, easily.

The GOP has been continually hyping themselves up to pretend like they’re going to push back against all the illegal shit Trump is doing.

They obviously aren’t going to do that with Trump, but they will with Vance - they aren’t afraid of him, and he has no real base.
angrystaffer.bsky.social
I think that’s pretty likely, but I also would urge folks to understand that even if they are indicted, there’s likely nothing that will happen to them.

Ask Putin and Bibi.
angrystaffer.bsky.social
I can’t say what i want to say here
angrystaffer.bsky.social
Interestingly enough, even the GOP is hammering the administration on this behind closed doors. It looks like blatant war crimes that the administration is attempting to hide behind the guise of narcoterrorism.

I think we’re likely to see some charges come from this eventually.
angrystaffer.bsky.social
He’s flat-out told most of them to not hold any events - they’re literally hiding from their Constituents.

But yeah, this isn’t going to end well for the GOP. The American people know who holds the power in literally every branch of the government.
angrystaffer.bsky.social
It’s been pretty shitty, but I’m hanging in there. Thank you for asking!
