I am convinced America crossed an event horizon thirteen years ago, when even the deaths of elementary school aged children at the hands of a monster weren't enough for their government to say "enough is enough". Hard not to think that Americans would rather have their guns over their children.

So, I just watched the intro to Game 7 and it was all that hyperbole you gotta love, but it ended with "welcome to game 7. Game on." Shouldn't that have been "play ball?"

Just finished SNL50. Just as with every SNL, it was uneven with elements of brilliance. Weird to realize that this show is one of the constants of my 50+ years of life. It used to be the show I babysat to..now I catch the highlights on Sunday.

I just want to make it clear that making jokes in times of great stress doesn’t mean that you take things less seriously. Some of us have simply learned not to let circumstances steal more of our joy than necessary. Times are hard and I’ll be damned if anyone’s going to take my laugh too.
