i remember how shocked i was when i first learned how little support is provided when people arrive after horrific experiences & at times yrs living in refugee camps. much of the support that’s given comes from volunteers & nonprofits. yes, there is initial investment by the govt but it ends quickly

it is overwhelmingly hard & most people aren’t fully aware until they are in a situation where a family member needs care. it needs to be a more amplified conversation & there need to be better answers

i had ppl disagreeing with me that his mannerisms were potentially neurodivergent related vs drug related. but the fact that they are then (IMO) taking advantage of the community is awful…on brand with all the other awful things about them
