The USAF flew a radar plane over Ottawa back in September. They do training missions up here regularly. They still have a base in Greenland. Distinguishing between what's been established as "normal" vs. gearing up for invasion might not be that straightforward.

I support an increase in funding to the CBC (by at least a billion dollars), ASAP. Because as pathetic as this is, nothing else is being broadcast from Canada as far as I can tell. Remember when CityTV used to host NYE at Nathan Philips Square? & now it's Dick Clark, who's been dead for 13+ years.

Got it working in time for Newfoundland, but omg this is honestly embarrassing. The interviews, the "games," the sound/syncing... You can see Jann Arden thinking "wtf am I doing here?" Hope they're paying her a lot. Mind you, I suppose it's entertaining... if you're into schadenfreude.

My sympathies. If it isn't the weather, it's a virus: this is the third year in a row my MIL's family holiday party has had to be cancelled due to someone being ill (too many immunocompromised folks). I wish we could just hold all gatherings in early summer. :/
