Shellfish are not kosher, or permissible in Jewish dietary laws. This comes back to their lack of scales or fins! I guess Tridacna squamosa (the fluted giant clam, with squamosa meaning scaly), or the genus Pinna, whose name means fin, don't count! Shucks! (297)

Das ist richtig für die Mittelwerte. Richtig sibirisch würde es unter heutigen Bedingen v.a. in Skandinavien. Dies hängt davon ab, wie weit das Meereis nach Süden vorstößt. Bemerkenswert ist, dass selbst mit deutlich erhöhten CO2-Werten (580 ppm, RCP4.5) das Meereis weit nach Süden reicht.

Dass Cli-Sci neuerdings auch nach ihren persönlichen Gefühlen zu diesem oder jenem Fakt befragt werden, nimmt dem berichteten Fakt das Abstrakte und gibt uns Laien eine Einordnungshilfe. Echt guter Move!

Mit Sibirien war langer kalter Winter und kurzer Sommer gemeint. Das passt doch oder verhält sich dascanders?
Ich finde gut, dass sie neben der Sachlichkeit auch die Emotion, die Verzweiflung zulassen. Ich kann mir gut vorstellen, dass das mehr als nur Sachlichkeit mit Daten und Fakten bringt.

Es wird aber in van Westens 2025 paper und seiner Karten-App nicht wie Sibirien. Der Klimawandel kommt ja obendrauf und wenn man bei Collapsed AMOC und 2C irgendwo in Deutschland klickt, sieht man, dass Jahres-°C etwas unter Pre-Industrial wird.
Bei 4C im Jahr knapp 4C mehr, auch Winter u Sommer.

Ein Kollaps der warmen Meeresströmung im Atlantik (#AMOC) hatte extreme Auswirkungen auf Europa. Neuere Simulationen zeigen, dass dies auch unter hohen CO2-Werten (RCP4.5) der Fall wäre. Die Frage ob und wann es zu einem Kollaps kommt, ist noch umstritten.

They cd have used a FOXNews logo as frame, or an evangelical 1974 TV preacher. But no, it had to be a trustworthy source.

Antarctic scallops are extremely *cool* bivalves that live in waters around the shores of Antarctica! Their shells have microgrooves to prevent them being overtaken by ice! They live packed up to 60 individuals/m2, and their shells are crucial habitat for a bunch of other invertebrates! (208)

Clams can be used to reconstruct climate! Oxygen isotopes of their shell appear in a ratio directly proportional to temperature. The majority of mollusk shells follow the same relationship, though some deviate and require unique equations. In this way, clams keep a diary of past environments (162)

The mutualism of a giant clam with its internal algae is a partnership for the ages. The clam provides the algae with nutrients and the algae gives back sugars, and directly assists with calcifying the shell. The photosynthesis of the giant clam "holobiont" is more efficient than some plants! (72)
