I know nothing of climate change. But its complexity is fascinating.
And how should we, our societies, live within biophysical planetary boundaries?
*322ppm
We had that in AD as well with Ninas, I think. Maybe not 10 years but longer than the 3 we just experienced in the 2020s.
Let's be careful tho. Non-chalantly bringing yet another planet into the discussion, the one from 250mio years ago. This one can inform us even less than the younger xxOcenes.

Can't use PETM as analogue – or any other climate before 1mio years ago really. Atmospheric forcing has to act out over the entire system. Which has changed dramatically. Biomes changed, ocean thruways as well, mountain ranges as climate divides, India and East Pacific moved North fast= ENSO, asf. 🖖

I so hope, UK Greens don't jump into coalition with only 15%.
Hope, they wait until a strong & stable 30%. Bc this is the very last chance to turn the system ship around and shouldn't be squandered on the few turbines or cycling paths they'd get with 15% – letting the fickle voters drop to 9%.
Then:

Reform-fans want a climate economy but are also addicted to emotional/hate engineering? UK Greens are turning this ship around maybe. From "the boats, the boats!!" to
"the Rich 20%, the Rich 20% !!"
A logical climate-savvy "hate engineering" too, as Kevin's emergency briefing showed multiple times.
November 29, 2025 at 12:52 PM
Ja. But recall the winters 2023 and 2024? Which drowned UK and northern Germany, destroyed crops and delayed sowing?
These floodings, I think, were due to HungaTonga which strengthened the jetstream, which drove one Iceland Low after the other across 52-54N latitude= lotsa rain, no time to run off.

Suffering and near-Grexit was also the fallout of these neoliberal factors, the USA deregulation and EU's arbitrary 3% debt rule.
And Brexit.
The rise of right-wing sadists too.

Funny, no? Somehow, social politics lost in all this. While neoliberals who caused it, intensified their strangling grip
November 27, 2025 at 5:22 AM
Bad luck with climate change, you know. Paired with bad=neoliberal politics in Finland: privatisation. Here, of a govt body who oversaw and guided all sustainable forest management on the private-owned land.
New management companies need profit growth so fell more than they should and don't replant.

SR15 chapter 3 tables inform about the change in sectoral risks from 1.5 to 2C like fluvial flood, urban population in drought, and more.
Also % of insect species to lose >50% of their climate home:
at 2C, it's three times the amount vs 1.5C.
And at 3C, it's 49% vs 6%.

Wer findet sowas denn toll? 🤔
Echte Sach-Rationen! Für alles. Auch fürs Fliegen.

Schon unterschrieben? Offizielle EU petition for carbon rationing of flight-CO2
citizens-initiative.europa.eu/initiatives/...

Sediment deposition in some places in German mudflats is slowing down, drowning beneath rising sea levels. Besides damage to biodiv, a loss of mudflats also means stress to dike protection. Categories: “Worse than previously thought” and “Uncertainty is not our friend”

Oh. Kategorien "Worse than previously thought" und "Uncertainty is not our friend."

Das is ja echt wieder peinlich.

A propos Habeck. www.bundesnetzagentur.de/DE/Gasversor...
So much joy.

October in Antarctica from Era5-Land
cds.climate.copernicus.eu/datasets/rea...
coordinates extracted like in ClimateReanalyzer: from 66.5S.
The nc-file shows that Era5-Land doesn't apply a strict land-only mask, where it includes the Ross shelf (?) at the plot edges.

Those 10Gt/a CO2 removal from 2040ff don't require BECCS and DACS.
We today have agency to save our world!
Change our diet (by law), remove cows, sheep, pigs, to give back to nature all land used for animal-sourced food.
The ensuing CO2 drawdown doesn't harm biodiv and requires no energy: 700Gt CO2!
November 20, 2025 at 7:21 AM
Cutting SO2 emissions increases precipitation? JA!💡
So that's why Cologne in the 1990s flooded al the time!
My girlie-pink marker says,
we're on a SSP1-1.9 pathway ! Who'd have thunk. Progress 🍻🥳
RCP8.5 only achieves this level of SO2 by 2040.

😁 Most of the dinosaur time, land-ocean was really unrecognizable, a different planet.
When they got killed by the rock, earth system was still very far from today's setup, storm gestation too. India, Himalaya, Nino/Nina didn't exist, Indian Ocean flowed all the way to Gibraltar, Panama was open,...

Sinkt dt. Lebenserwartung auf <30 wegen unbehandelt bleibender Krebse?

"The man with the gun who wanted to shoot people in small boats? He wasn't born that way.
The same system that pollutes our air and rivers is polluting our minds. All of us. So we must change the system. And we must draw a line now. Let us hold this line. Together!" Zack Polanski

Was passiert dann? Mit THG und Biomen?
November 17, 2025 at 9:00 AM
Tja.

100% vegan schluckt 740Gt CO2 in 40 Jahren www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Growing a spirit of global solidarity can prevent losing the production capacity in [sub-]tropical states so existential for our complex 🌐supply chains.
Instead of sadist scapegoatism spread by fascists, we therefore must foster hope and trust in people, in neighbours, in politics, eg 🇬🇧Zack Polanski
November 17, 2025 at 7:34 AM
Also, politicians don't update their climate knowledge. Even IF advisors informed them.
So painfully plain in Obama's prep talk to his daughter.
Says, 2C is manageable and thinks, 3.5C would see "100mio people migrate, at 2.5C only a few"!

IPCC SR15: 90mio at 1.5C, 900mio at 3C – numbers for 2050!!
