Holy crap -- Automatic Noodle is an instant USA Today and Indie bestseller! Thank you so much, humans and robots, for reading this li'l book and making it soar. Now go eat something! Or get your noodle swag at automaticnoodle.website
The words "An instant USA Today and Indie bestseller" arch over a picture of my novella "Automatic Noodle," with a picture of a robot hand holding biang biang noodles in chopsticks, done in rainbow colors. There is a faint flower pattern in the background of the picture.

Dear [Author],

Your book [Title] is wonderful. I had painful urination and blood in my urine for years, until I read [Title] and now there is a clear golden stream.

[Title] deserves a wider readership. My team of 5,000 cyber-turtles can post honest reviews and raise your Zoob ranking, for a modest

It's a matter of what you can afford honestly. I paid for the livestream, which means I could ask a question and engage in the live chat with students. Some folks pay a lot more to be in small discussions. The lecture was the highlight for me, though, and seeing it live was nice but not necessary.

"One Battle After Another" was so good. I keep thinking about it. The perfect combination of satire, tragedy, and hope.

@georgejohnston.bsky.social hey George I'm writing an essay for Flaming Hydra about the history of review bombing, and I'm arguing that your successful Google bomb is a key part of the story ... any chance I could ask you a couple of questions by email/phone/whatever you prefer?

On @ouropinions.bsky.social this week, we've got pumpkin season book recommendations and an amazing tale of science, hellbenders, and predator-phobia.

Spooky season is here! So for our latest episode we're talking about the scary books we love right now. 😱📚🥰

Plus contributing host @beebrookshire.bsky.social talks about Hellbenders — who aren't actually that scary. But extinction campaigns are!

The audiobook cover of The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones, read by Shane Ghostkeeper, Owen Teale & Marin Ireland, with acnowledgments read by the author. Cover depicts a fucked up looking buffalo with a broken horn.

True. But I still don't think that makes it OK for a social network CEO to tell users to shut up because they haven't "paid" the network. Every word we write here is a form of payment.

Nice! If you're in Portland OR, you must try the food truck called Stretch the Noodle. Truly excellent biang biang.

But the point is, no legit business gets words for free. Only a scam business would do that.

... because of a very human trait known as irrational exuberance
annaleen.bsky.social
Without words, such companies have no value. Nobody cares about a media company that has no content and no audience.

Apropos of nothing, I would like to point out that large companies whose business model is "serve words to the public" will typically pay between US $.10 and $3.00 per word. So when you give words to a company for free, you are in fact paying them a LOT of money.
