Calling all #Chaoborus people! Can anyone help me confirm that this is Chaoborus flavicans? Samples collected from ponds in France. I have more photos as well if that would help!

Some rotifers that I photographed from our mesocosm samples made it on the cover of the Hydrobiologia special issue (Zooplankton under Multiple Stressors) that our article is contained in! ✨ Check out the special issue here: link.springer.com/journal/1075...

We found differences between pelagic and littoral habitats in terms of zooplankton community composition and diversity, and a wide diversity of vertical and horizontal migration behaviors across crustacean and rotifer genera.

We sampled various sub-habitats within 16 experimental ponds at the CEREEP-ECOTRON Île de France PLANAQUA Experimental Lake Platform day and night to assess zooplankton communities and migration behaviors.

In this study, we investigated daily vertical and horizontal migration behaviors of crustacean zooplankton and rotifers in shallow experimental ponds, and how these behaviors and the communities themselves responded to differences in planktivory and dissolved oxygen concentrations across ponds.

My first first-author paper is officially published! 🎉🎉 This was a team effort and could not have been possible without my wonderful coauthors! The article can be accessed at this link: rdcu.be/d20BA and it will be part of Hydrobiologia's upcoming Special Issue "Zooplankton Under Multiple Stressors"
