Alcohol. Right?
While many cry about all the negative effects alcohol has, the consumption of it is nevertheless extremely high.
In many societies alcohol is part of everyday life. They are confronted with it at work, when they have to drink with colleagues, and once they get home and

Can pop be culturally appropriated?
Appropriation in hip hop poses an immense issue as it was developed in America by ethnic minority populations and by leaving the US and being 'used' in different countries the cultural elements were removed and only its creative expressions remained.

The pink economy is an interesting phenomenon. It can be defined as "the spending power of gay men and lesbians" with pink money being "the purchasing power of the LGBTQ+ community."

I want to take a look at the difference between graphic novels and manga and how manga's popularity has influenced Western popular culture.
Let's first take a look at what #manga is and why readers prefer it over #graphicnovels.
Both use illustrations to tell a story.

International fans stay relatively ignorant to the misogyny present in Korea because they are blinded by the bright and fun side of Hallyu. Especially in K-pop sexism is hugely represented.
This article shows good examples of that.

The film #YourNameEngravedHerein was quite interesting to watch.Although there were some scenes that I didnt fully understand I think thats because the movie was made by a person who experienced similar scenes in real life and thus some context for someone completely from the outside may be missing

Professional gaming - should it be given the same respect as other professional sports?
I believe that the answer here is a bit complicated.
First let's take a look at the official definition of sport from the Oxford dictionary.

My favorite martial arts film of all time is called Rurouni Kenshin. It is a historical action story about a former assassin named Kenshin Himura known as Hitokiri Battōsai who lives in Japan in the Meiji era.

There has been a rapid decline in marriages in Japan. The gender responsible for that are actually men and not women. These men, who much rather prefer their single lives are called 'herbivores' and the reasons for them to stay single are plentiful.

I will start this thread by saying that I never drink coffee at home. I have tried it once and hated it. I do not enjoy the taste and also never felt the effects of the caffeine.
This changed however after arriving in Korea.
The first thing we did with our friends was go to a café.

How does your popular culture consumption connect to your process of learning an Asian language?
Just like in the article ""Those anime students":Foreign language literacy development through Japanese popular culture" by Dr. Fukunaga I myself also got into the Korean language through pop culture.
