QAA had a good episode on travel YouTubers losing their damn minds about London and being like I AM IN OCCUPIED TERRITORY as someone with a loaf of bread strolls past and wishes them a good day

Definitely the case for people like Goodwin and Reform, but I've seen similar rhetoric coming out of the black manosphere too, which imo is still pretty understudied as a phenomenon.

I actually think it's even more base. It's "if you were more anxious about your rapidly diminishing fertility you wouldn't turn down a nice guy like me", dressed up to sound political and important. bsky.app/profile/anni...
I'd just like to see a bit more honesty. It's not about birthrates, it's manosphere-infused petulance that women find it too easy to reject men these days, and a desire for some kind of organised top-down social pressure to get them to stop.

Yeah they started trying to get people sacked for saying stuff like "he didn't deserve to die and I feel awful for his family but he wasn't a good person", it looked hugely disproportionate and unreasonable

I was half-joking here but I do think it's gained a lot of popularity on the right bc for the past decade theyve been marinating in an internet culture thats first law is that getting actually upset about anything is a weak and effeminate thing to do. bsky.app/profile/anni...
As someone who used to be routinely accused of getting "triggered" by this lot back in the old days, it's kind of amusing to me that they've adopted the term "cortisol spiked" to mean pretty much the same thing
