Let's spell it out then. The motivation is
1/ empathy for our fellow human beings
2/ to raise the political cost of the British government's complicity to the point where London is forced to withdraw its support, thereby increasing the international pressure on Israel to cease its genocidal acts.

One thing that really stands out at the moment is how much of the stuff driving all this is utterly, *completely* untethered from reality. This is nothing to do with climate change, it's ingroup signalling to a very small number of people who have been utterly radicalised.

You only needed to look at the overwhelming success of stuff like Libs of TikTok, a crowdsourced campaign to get teachers fired for the crime of being gay on social media, to see this. But it seems that for lots of media types, it's only real cancel culture if it's people like them losing their jobs

I'm planning to go into it longform for a series but basically for men: much more explicitly sexualised, and content focuses on putting down other women in openly misogynist terms. For women: more religion-oriented, more ethnically diverse, and fashion is either trendy or 'modest' vintage, not sexy

1 thing I find v interesting is how the tradwives who are pitching to a male audience and those who are pitching to women have pretty much nothing in common. They're both talking about how wonderful patriarchy is but the imaginative landscape for what that actually looks like is completely different

Theres a few tradwife influencers who also do onlyfans and will say stuff like "well this allows me to stay in the home and put my family first". I dont find it all that much more contradictory than how they all describe their online businesses as totally different to the bad girlboss kind of career

just got a press release for a "tradwife" who is using an online form to identify potential dating prospects from the pool of guys that follow her on onlyfans. separately, i no longer understand what the word "tradwife" means, and actually maybe never did.
