I keep saying that @bloodwork.show is a dialogue and an invitation because I mean that. I want to have discussions with people about what violence *is*, to them, and what it means, and so if you are open to having that discussion, in any idiom, please, email: [email protected]

This is an absolutely terrifying moment that we are only going to get out of by talking to one another. And I don't mean that in the facile, Ezra Klein sense. I mean that if any of you feel anything like I do lately, you're probably looking around asking if anyone sees what you're seeing.

I see it.

I'm working on an episode on Mike Davis's History of the Car Bomb, and contacted someone who I hoped to discuss the book with. They told me they had personally witnessed a car bomb assassination twenty years ago. I'm still trying to figure out how to reply to that email.

And of course, the fascist project is one with clear and stated goals that it pursues with a foam-mouted ferocity, but it is also a politics of nihilism. This is the confounding contradiction that is its only truth. Fascism pursues total domination, and the only way to achieve this is annihilation.

Of course this is all more complicated than that—300 characters—but as I gaze across this emergent political landscape and try to map out its topography, everywhere I look I find myself thinking, "I don't know if you know what you want; what you're calling for; or where you believe it's will lead."
gregk.co.uk
With @bloodwork.show scheduled to drop shortly, maybe one way to explain my motivation behind the project is this sense that violence is increasingly being embraced by one side with no idea what it ultimately wants against another side that refuses to confront how serious they are about wielding it.

It's never about the value of one individual. But there is an undeniable power in how the actions of this one individual reveal, through the unity of politics, ethics, and moral clairty their actions express, how the character of those in charge are so cheap. And that is a deeply threatening thing.

This thing that we call the struggle is never about, nor located in one individual. But when one individual can identify, proclaim and then act upon their political beliefs with such all-encompassing clarity is a thing so precious that it immediately, in turn, exposes our ruling order as worthless.

Think of the immense quantities of time, money, attention, energy, access, elevation, promotion, incentivisation, valorisation and acclamation that have gone into producing the vast majority of the dominant ruling political class in virtually every country across the world. Then look at Greta.

The media continue to present this woman as a child because at 22-years old she presents a degree of moral clarity, rhetorical potency and profound understanding of the connection between one's politics and one's actions that her detractors, many more than twice her age, not ony lack, but defile.

Much like "crab", industrial music is constantly re-evolving from first principles basically anywhere where there's a bunch of metal and plastic laying about

Here is a bundle of thoughts I needed to get off of my chest as I embark on an endeavour that is filling with me with terror, trepidation, excitement and hope – but more importantly, purpose.

Here is a South Philippine Dwarf Kingfisher
A photograph of a South Philippine Dwarf Kingfisher resting on a tree branch. It has a purplish-pink head with white speckles, a long orange beak, a pearly orange chest and brown wings, with a white tuft toward the back of its collar. It is small and beautiful.

When I first saw the video in question, I neither clicked it, nor turned the sound on. I just sat at this desk, with my chin cradled in my left hand, my elbow on the desk, and just stared, blank-faced, feeling nothing, as I contemplated and affirmed the preciousness of life as living-life.
